tech death doesnt require more gain in fact, you need less gain than usual death metal, unless you want the complex chords & guitar lines to become muddy shit

From my personal experience, I found out that by using 7 string, I corrected my bad habits in terms of posture and hand shape, solely because of the different neck width/profile. It took some getting used to, of course. But in hindsight I realised I had many bad habits from my 6 string days.

I adore both, my goal is a 6-string PRS Custom 24 and the 7-string JP. Just so classy and I've never ever heard them sound not great.

Thanks for sharing! I am currently looking for great riffs to start extended range playing and my suggestions would have been Hypocrite by Alien Weaponry, Hilf Mir bei Rammstein and the one that matches your style probably best: The Interbeing - Pulse within the Paradox or alternatively Amaranthe - 365. I usually practice some Sirenia Riffs as well, but I think that they are played in Drop A. Btw, where is KoRn on this list?
