I honestly don't understand why people call her ugly, she might have more masculine features but that doesn't take away from her femininity and that certainly doesn't make her ugly!

In an interview with Popdash, Florence actually stated that the song was about "weight of love, and how sometimes it can be a burden between two people. . . . I felt this was a strong theme in the Twilight series - is someone being rescued or are they being condemned, and is the love you carry bringing you down?" Direct quote Love her music though! Very dark but almost seductive. Very beautiful music and video. Love how everything was captured just PERFECTLY! 😊

"Heavy In Your Arms" I was a heavy heart to carry My beloved was weighed down My arms around his neck My fingers laced to crown. I was a heavy heart to carry My feet dragged across ground And he took me to the river Where he slowly let me drown My love has concrete feet My love's an iron ball Wrapped around your ankles Over the waterfall I'm so heavy, heavy Heavy in your arms I'm so heavy, heavy Heavy in your arms And is it worth the wait All this killing time? Are you strong enough to stand Protecting both your heart and mine? Who is the betrayer? Who's the killer in the crowd? The one who creeps in corridors And doesn't make a sound My love has concrete feet My love's an iron ball Wrapped around your ankles Over the waterfall My love has concrete feet My love's an iron ball Wrapped around your ankles Over the waterfall I'm so heavy, heavy Heavy in your arms I'm so heavy, heavy So heavy in your arms This will be my last confession I love you never felt like any blessing (Ohhhh) Whispering like it's a secret Only to condemn the one who hears it With a heavy heart Heavy heavy i'm so heavy in your arms (i'm so) Heavy heavy i'm so heavy in your arms (i'm so) Heavy heavy i'm so heavy in your arms (i'm so) Heavy heavy i'm so heavy in your arms I was a heavy heart to carry my beloved was weighed down My arms around his neck My fingers laced to crown I was a heavy heart to carry But he never let me down When he had me in his arms My feet never touched the ground I'm so heavy, heavy in your arms. Heavy, i'm so heavy in your arms.

I wish they hadn't cut off the last part. "I was a heavy heart to carry, but he never let me down. When he had me in his arms, my feet never touched the ground". It's the soul of the song. She keeps saying that she's heavy but at the end we find out she's got someone who bears her weight.

“I love you never felt like any blessing … only to condemn the one who hears it with a heavy heart”. This song perfectly captures the fear of being a burden that I feel as a person with a mental illness. I love that even when she sings about a common theme (love) she does it from such a unique perspective and puts words to a feeling I’ve had but couldn’t fully express. It gives a timeless quality to the music that a lot of songs don’t have.

I used to study this music video and many of her other early songs such as Swimming, Falling, Blinding, The Drumming Song, Rabbit Heart, etc. because I did a year-long art project for GCSEs in 2011/12 solely on Florence Welch and her music. I used to write her lyrics in the background of the pieces XD

Today, I was looking for some Florence + The Machine music to put on one of my playlists, thought I'd try out this one, and what do you know, it was the same song.
