In this video, we go through why three popular car TV show hosts left their TV show networks. Dave "Heavy D" Sparks from "Diesel Brothers," Richard Rawlings from "Gas Monkey Garage," and Dan Short from "Fantomworks" left their TV networks for similar reasons. Since their departure, there seem to be fewer and fewer car TV shows anymore. This video will expose why they left and what they are doing now!
Heavy D Sparks from Diesel Brothers reacts to my video: • Wait...Did We Get Canc...
Dan Short from Fantomworks reacts to my video: • Why FantomWorks Ended....

The difference between Dan Short and Richard Rawlins is the fact that Dan Short actually has skill, knowledge and ability to build cars.

you do know that rawlings was just the money man, right? he buys cars and hires the right people to make them into something else. so sure, short is better at building cars, for the obvious reasons above

Dan may have more mechanical knowledge and skill but he doesn't have half the business mind that Rawlings has. Being the money man as you call it is silly seeing how he's far more than that. A money man would be a silent partner. If there isn't someone with money to back a business ypu wouldn't have a business very long.

As a woodworker who used to film his work in the shop, I can't tell you how many times I had to stop my flow to clean off camera equipment from dust. As for Fantomworks, they still run reruns on Motortrend almost daily, so hopefully, Mr. Short is making up some of that loss in royalties to his company.

The same thing happened with American Chopper / OCC. I worked for a company that did a theme bike with them on TV. it was completely undriveable would not start half the time. all because they were in a rush to get it done and completed for TV. granted there was also a ton of drama around the show at that point in time. the fabrication and paint work were incredible. it was just a mechanically unsound, and undriveable because the front tire was way too big. you could maneuver the bike with two people holding it up. in the TV show they one showed the bike being ridden in a straight line. because that is the only direction you could go without tipping the bike over completely. it was basically a cake decoration. great to look at, but unusable.

Sorry to read Dan Short faced those problems, specially during his Father's last days: the business of capitalism always conflicts with Justice. He visited Puerto Rico before the show ended or by the same time, we never knew about all this. He has one of the best restore shops, and excellent work ethic. Soon he will have to add the newer classics cars to his restore projects and new clients too.

I used to watch car TV shows a lot but then I gradually stopped. What happened is I got tired of all the fabricated drama that ended up in most of them and that stupid Eeeee, aaaa! sound effect that Discovery injects into EVERY SHOW to make a moment "dramatic". I think the last show I was really into was Top Gear but once Clarkson was fired I never watched it again, there was no point. I also liked the "power block" shows and ones like them. Guys like Stacy David actually building stuff and showing projects that people could do at home in their own garage, all with little to no drama! For now, when I want to watch automotive contest I watch it on KZfaq.

i liked counting cars for the personalities there. i have built cars since i was 15 so it was old to me.i also know it was a tv show and is edited and parts are scripted but that's ok . orange county choppers after a few episodes i had enough . too much drama. pawn stars i liked for the items , the bickering between the characters not so much. people say it's fake. well the items aren't fake so i could care less if the purchases and sales are fake. it's a tv show not reality. it's not even the actual store. heavy D i dislike for his association with that con man milton at nikola . i saw through him from day1. enrages me he keeps his millions.

The trouble with all these TV shows, is the BS drama to try to pull in non enthusiasts. Although I never saw Diesel Bros here in the UK outside of YT, the other 2 shows were shown on various channels, but I much prefer the YT content, however, the only American car show I actually found entertaining away from the car builds/restorations, was Rust Valley Restorers, although sometimes that could be annoying too. Here in the UK, we have Trucking Heavy (heavy haulage) and Trucking Hell (heavy recovery), we also get the Australian/New Zealand heavy haulage, trucking and recovery shows, While there is still a lot of unnecessary drama, I find they're more relatable than most of the American car shows, but again, the drama is for non enthusiasts or those that work or have worked within those industries. A good example is Lizard Lick Repos and Repo Nut. The former was on TV and every job was drama, the latter was just a YT channel and he tried to avoid drama wherever possible, he'd get in, load up, get out the area and then secure, I know things fell apart for him after his wife died, but he was always good viewing, TV did approach him about filming him, but he declined, as they wanted drama etc, which he didn't, he was true to his viewers. I'll actively try to avoid shows, whether on TV or other platforms that have drama, just for the sake of drama, there are some great vehicle related channels on YT, that probably have more viewers and subscribers than the networks had.

Personally, as far as Heavy D goes, I will never watch his show do anything that he may profit from it’s probably been a little over two years ago. He got a bunch of stuff from sponsors and everything else and did this huge where you bought tickets for $50 apiece For gold boxes and you were guaranteed to win at least $50 worth back possibly drills generators this and that I bought two boxes when it was a real tough time really didn’t have the money but thought this would be great. Got the money together for the big great giveaway, it took longer for everyone to get their prizes than was supposed to and I got two basketball cards and was towed well you’ll be in the next drawing well I have never received anything but two individual basketball cards for my hundred dollar gold boxes. Result of liberals making a complete mess of everything they touch. I mean, there are many many many shows I don't watch because I don't even know where to go to watch them anymore. New movies are a thing of the past not being able to even tell you the name of a recent release or where to watch them. When you do figure it out it means another subscription. Watching Discovery completely destroy a good thing over and over is really getting old to the point I no longer even watch because the series will just get canceled. What a joke.

Richard rawlins is a tool, no one cared that he wasn’t on tv anymore, fast and loud was a terrible show. Good riddance

Gas monkey went too diverse, multiple bas etc, I miss Dan Short, his You Tube revival is less than entertaining. Diesel brothers seemed too fake, their you tube is better than the tv show. IMHO
