Start writing the Hebrew alphabet! This video shows letter strokes to write a classical square script (different than the Modern Hebrew cursive script). Note that there is variation in how people write some letters, and this is just one option.
There are printable alphabet practice worksheets available to go with each of our alphabet videos. Many thanks to Carol for putting together this great resource to share with you all!

Just a note for those who are using lined paper -- unlike Roman letters, which "rest" on the bottom line, Hebrew letters are "hung" from the top line. If anyone has any good books or other resources to recommend for Hebrew calligraphy, please let me know!

This is excellent. However I was surprised when showing the niqqud and you got to sh'va and pronounced it with a w sound and not a v sound. Is that not at odds with the Sephardic way of pronunciation?

How would you write this in pencil or pen?

When I was beginning to learn Biblical Hebrew I bought a carpenter's pencil from the builders supply. These have a wide, flat lead on them and it was a lot of fun trying to do calligraphy strokes and duplicating what I was seeing and especially helpful in coming up with my own handwriting. I prefer a #2 pencil but a gel pen is nice also. The thing is to experiment and see what works for you. It's a fun language to try to write and I've used everything.. even paint on a rock and a piece of wood! Hope that's helpful!

Bet with a dot makes a "b" sound and without a dot makes a "v" sound
