Hector Camacho - Was a Puerto Rican professional boxer and entertainer. Known for his quickness in the ring and flamboyant style, Camacho competed professionally from 1980 to 2010, and was a world champion in three weight classes. He held the WBC super featherweight title from 1983 to 1984, the WBC lightweight title from 1985 to 1987, and the WBO junior welterweight title twice between 1989 and 1992.

I was one of the 65,000 at the Alamodome when Chavez fought Whitaker. In between fights, when no one was in the ring, Camacho who was wearing some pink coat ran down the isle and jumped into the ring and started throwing these lightning fast flurries . Everyone started booing! He just smiled and waved and jumped out of the ring. I thought it was hilarious!

As a Mexican, we’ve had a lot of great fighters but, I gotta say, Camacho was one of the best fighters of all time that I ever saw. There will never be another fight like him. Much respect to the Macho man. 🇵🇷🇲🇽

I bumped into Macho Camacho at a GNC store in Ft Myers Florida *late 1980’s*…GNC stores were very small, and I accidentally bumped into Camacho’s shoulder while passing by him in an aisle. He looked directly at me with an angry expression, but thankfully he was with his entourage or I would have had a can oh whoop A$$ opened up on me.

Entertaining and talented. But the crazy life outside that you mention is the truth, too. He was basically a crazy street kid, and that never really left him. It kept him from taking the sport as seriously as he should have. He lacked a certain focus, dedication, and consistency, that he would have benefitted greatly from. But it hurts me to say those things, because I'm a big fan, and he might just be my favorite boxer of all time. I'm Puerto Rican, and he's definitely my favorite Puerto Rican boxer of all time. Oh what could have been if he wasn't so wild, because he was working with some incredible natural gifts.

Hector used his speed to overwhelm his opponent and what goes unnoticed is he consistently threw the right hook to the body and head . At lightweight and junior lightweight his speed and ability to hurt you with it was unmatched . If you did make the distance you were outpointed because you would have too many quick and accurate combinations from one of the fastest boxers this side of Ray Leonard 🏅

People need to realize that Macho didn't lose a fight throughout the entire decade of the 80"s. His first bout took place in 1980. He just screwed off too much. When he first burst on the scene Macho looked unstoppable. No one was close to him. Even though he is in the Boxing Hall of Fame there is still a common feeling that he never fullfilled the promise of his immense talent.

Like Mike Tyson, he was multitple time champion but still ended up in "what could have been..." category because of his wild lifestyle. I think he could have had similar career as 90's RJJ if he's really focusing on his career. But given his upbringing, its simply wasnt meant to be.

I was ringside for his very last fight against a Mexican journeyman in Kissimmee, Florida. Camacho was 48 years old and lost the fight to a young boxer who couldn't knock him out as much as he tried. The crowd was mostly Mexican and they came to watch old Camacho being knocked out. Their boxer won the bout, but Camacho won their respect for giving his all and remaining on his feet til the end.

No one can match this mans shows, i remember going to one fight and many ladies went just for the prefighting show of him coming in and his style, he was a typical great performer of Puerto Ricans nationality and he did not disappoint. May he rest in peace as one of the best fighters and showmen i've ever seen, he made other hispanics of non Puerto Rican descent none can match buy they could try and copy like the chinese to America's technology they can copy but it's just not the same quality and this man was a super star, God Bless him.

I wouldn't totally discount it but I don't rate him highly as a fighter so the motivation wouldn't exactly be there if you know what I mean. Possibly one for the future though, an interesting character for sure.

Was curious to know if you make a video about Fernando, considering that besides his losses he defeated Javier Castillejo, Yori Boy Campas, Raul Marquez, Wilfredo Rivera, Wrinky Wright and Ike Quartey. It's understandable if you don't want to though.

Obviously, full fights of numerous fighters are available throughout the internet but content like yours is very helpful and entertaining considering they don't take an hour or so to watch.
