It’s really not that complex , lots of repetition and some techniques can go far and to put a lot of time with that makes u sound like machine 🤷🏻‍♂️ awesome drumming but the innovation mainly comes from drummers of another genre then picked up by others In these pop genres

Are you saying Grogers technique is slower, or just slower in the beginning, but gets faster with practice?

@@Crocodonk depends on how your brain works I straight can't seem to process or imagine playing double strokes, it feels so alien. either way, practice is what gets you fast, and you gotta start slow and clean, otherwise your "speed" will be more akin to a seizure on drums.

For me at the moment my double strokes, and swivel on the bass drum isn't any faster than my singles. The swivel and doubles just seem to require less stamina, but are much harder to coordinate.

I wish more people talked about the difference between longboard pedals and shortboard. Most direct drives are longboard right? My students therefore go "direct drive is weak pedals." The 0 point on the footboard angle adjustment isnt the same on a long vs shortboard. My longboards 0 point is at 13 degrees and my shortboard 0 point is 18. We tried changing out the direct drive shaft for a chain and tried to A and B it blindfolded. Turns out it was the angle that was making it a weaker stroke on the longboard cause u have 5 degrees less space to build speed/ power in the stroke. So now I play a longboard at 15 degrees. Makes a difference. Wish hed cover this too

@@user-hn7wl5yw9z where you can adjust the footboards angle there are little tick marks so u can always remember your settings. Zero point is the tick mark in the middle. Some call that the "factory standard "settings since that's where the pedal is set when u first get em. Sorry I'm not great at explaining without giving u a picture of it.

I think so At least from what I can see from the drum cams, it seems he uses the Pearl Eliminators, double chain drive.
