Feminism tells women how to be men. Feminists are lost in a paradox of confused women. Nonya Beeswax I'm not really in the mood for a broad dicussion her,e as this post was mainly to adress the HeForShe movement and what EW said, but I'll put up some points you could look into if you are interested: Male genital mutilation, aka circumcision. While female genital mutilation has become a controversial thing to do, male genital mutilation is still a societal norm in many cultures. Only a few doctors speak of advantages, though the consensus deems the risks and consequences to great for it to be done. It also contradicts the Hippocratic oath. Custody rights. Fathers still have to fight to even get shared custody, as female custody is the standard. Rape definition. The legal definition of rape used in many countries is still a very sexist one, due to it requiring penetration. It does not include for example being forced to penetrate. Alimony laws, where the working partner needs to pay the stay at home partner indefinitely to support their way of living. A law that in recent years has begun affecting women. It is a law that should have gone away quite some time ago. Stay at home partners should be able to work to sustain themselves in about 5 years after termination of marriage. Innocent until proven guilty. This right is being infringed upon, especially regarding rape. It can be seen in the rolling stone debacle, where the alleged perpetrators where punished by society before they could even defend themselves. False rape accusations. It kind of links to the earlier point. It is a problem that isn't discus enough. Victims of this crime often suffer consequences due to the accusation, even if proven false. Even if not attacked by the media, they can be rejected for jobs on that being on their record, despite being innocent. These are some of the main points. Some others problems that need attention, though it aren't legal problems: Male suicide, depression and lack of proper support, due to lack of safe spaces. Dropout rates for boys at all levels of education. Schools being an unfit environment for boys, due to not being able to express themselves in a way that benefits a lot of boys.

Okay, yes. These are the points I have seen at MGTOW. I understand their plight, but I also feel so much pain from them. And yes, before I started any soul searching on humanities, I argued circumcision with my religious family. Apparently speaking my mind is anti-god or something. Anyhow, I feel like things should be done for everyone, but I'm not sure where the best place to start is. Honestly, I'm far more concerned about our (collective our, of course) children than men and women at this point.

Nonya Beeswax I feel equal rights are more important than social norms and that a large part of the conversation is skipped when it is just about men not being able to express themselves, which I find they are perfectly capable of in the spaces I've seen set up by the before mentioned organisations. Of course children are the most important. The impressions they get shape the future. That is why I think both boys and girls need to be accepted as they are, rather than having one norm to which all should be measured as it seems have been up to this point, favoring boys in the past and girls in the present.

So you have an issue with someone opening the door for you? Here's what you should do. Open the door for them. Get to the door first, and open it for every single guy who wants to walk through that door. And when they apologize for swearing in front of you, say, "Don't worry about it, I've said much, much worse when I get angry." It will throw them off so quickly, they'll come to see a different side of you. I swear my favorite thing to do to these guys are to start swearing like a sailor. It's really funny how off-guard they get, then they start having a normal conversation with you. Part of it has to do with them fearing offending you, that's all. At the end of the day, just remember that guys who do this typically mean nothing by it. It has nothing to do with inequality or them viewing you as inferior. Here's the thing - they're trying to be respectful and courteous to you. Don't try to spin it off in such a negative. What is your job, if you don't mind me asking?
