Helaena is told her son, Jaehaerys will have a funeral, however she has no say in the matter. She prefers to grieve privately.

When she says 'this is for my boy' in her own way, girl just told her mother 'I don't have it in me to care who you screw' because really, that was the last thing on her mind. She's falling apart, she's devastated, and her mother wants to chat about how she walked in on her riding the king's guard. I will say that Phia Saban has impressed me. Her performance seems to get overshadowed by more prominent characters/actors, but she just shines in every scene she is in.

I agree with you 100%. The performance is impeccible. She has very few lines but communicates so much emotion and depth. She is a true innocent. She is absolutely right to redirect the focus on the funeral, not her mother's liasons. This scene also reveals so much about Alicent.

@@VictoriaTraduccionesYes, yes, yes. In the past, it was sometimes believed that monarchs could cause miracles. They'd be asked by people to heal them, oftentimes by touching them and stuff. So I guess she doesn't want to have to speak to anyone, talk to anyone, see anyone that is a stranger in this difficult time for her. I feel sooo bad for her.

I hate how Allison doesn't even try to comfort her daughter. It's just "the king can't afford to look weak" or "about you walking in on me having sex." Just not one ounce of concern for the woman falling apart.

100% correct. She has zero mothering skills. Alicent cares for her family's grip on the throne and her pious image. Its awful to watch. Helaena deserves so much more.

Honestly, I'm praying they include a scene next season between Daeron and her to show what relationship they have and how likely she f*cked him up, too. Or how he thrived without Viserys' oafish absence and her controlling, fear-mongering nature in his life.

Honestly, I 100% agree. Helaena in the book does not do anything apart from suffering, even though she has a dragon of her own. And one of the oldest ones at that I have autism, like Helaena. I want to watch her fly away into somewhere else. I want her to change her fate. I don't care how many get mad at the screenwriters, I think she deserves to alter her destiny in at least one venue.

My heart absolutely broke Haelana and also Aegon when she left him to his grief in order to go off and ride Criston, who had he been doing his job none of this would’ve happened. Even worse Criston sunk even lower with the Erryk and Arryk situation. He is absolute SCUM

Is Criston a good leader? He might be good in battle, but it doesn't seem like he knows how to organize the kingsguard. He totally transferred the blame onto Arryk. It was truly horrendous to pin brother against brother

Let’s not get started on Jahaerys 1. But the bar is set so low now it’s truly disgusting. As the show goes on I’m not sure I can stomach more of Alicent and Criston

Helaena def had the day-to-day dealings with the kids. I think that type of contact creates a special closeness. We don't see any of Aegon's interactions with the kids until briefly in season 2...centered around his heir & legacy. Fair point. Was he as attentive when he was out and about drunk in season 1 ??

I agree. Helaena has such a burden. She witnessed the death of her son. She may feel guilt since she picked which child would be killed. She has no one. It doesn't seem like Aegon is even around so they could comfort each other.
