At 20:25, there is some serious product placement with Butterfingers and Baby Ruth candy on counter of general store. Also, Hunt's ketchup, Kool and Camel cigarettes, and Lipton Tea. Very nostalgic 💛 Woman undercover detective and pilot; awesome! Thank you, PizzaFlix! 💝

Have you seen the commercial with the guy who plays Adolf Mussolini? The actor in the commercial is one of my friends. I think the commercial was too funny for the PC society in which we live today, it was made about 15 years ago... I wish I made a copy....

@Krinkle Hill If I were that actor I would have a copy myself. Why not ask that friend of yours? But we will always have both of them in Chaplin's The Great Dictator, when Adolf prepares the scene for his guest from bella Italia and Benito frustrates it all. As to the PC ideologists: A figure named e.g. Mao Marx would undoubtedly not be objectionable, provided, of course, he is presented as a harmless and most likable guy - just like these two gentlemen, in the formers' minds, were in reality.

This is a humdinger of a film. Makes me wish it had a few sequels or even became a serial. That dame should be an inspiration for current female law enforcement agents. Quick on her feet. I love the location of the shoot. I doubt it was a studio set. But I could be wrong, Hollywood was getting pretty sophisticated by the time of this film. To bad the celluloid started deteriorating by the time it was transferred but I'll watch these great movies any way I can get 'em. Thanks again Pizza Flix, hope I don't sound like a broken record as I seem to be repeating myself quite often during this SARS-COV2 era. You've become quite a necessary addition to my routine. I've got an hour to kill before the rugby match starts, so what better way to pass the time than by watching one of these enjoyable old movies. I was born in 1936 (it's now Jam 2019!) so was bred and born to these films. I love 'em. Regards to you all.

@@lodalega9674 Life did seem a lot simpler but please remember, food rationing ended about 48/49 and the country was in a terrible state after WW2. Being young and carefree, just enjoyed life, worked hard and prospered so now enjoy a comfortable retirement. Kind regards from England. Keep healthy and off the cigarettes!!!

@@ronaldstrange8981 I am from India Sir,situation wasn't great for us either in the late 40s,early 50s thanks to Britishers,they created Pakistan and we are paying for their mistake till this day,wish they had taken Nehru and Gandhi back with them them when they left India,no offense Sir.

They had women police officers then but not female federal agents. Still a good movie. Sadly, Blanche Mehaffey’s film 🎞 career ended soon after this and she died of an overdose at 59. Today, she is mostly forgotten and only a footnote in movie 🎥 history. Flo Ziegfeld once said she had “the most beautiful eyes 👀 in the world.”

I'll be darned-- in 1938 a film starring a woman as a capable undercover detective. Seriously, I haven't seen this portrayed in that era, this might be a ground-breaker. Pizza, you know how to find 'em.

They've been around a long time. Mata Hari was born in 1876, and due to her success and later notoriety, there were many undercover agents, double spies, etc., in films, modeled on her career.

I used to work for the Library of Congress but in IT instead of the film restoration department. If I knew they are restoring valuable black and while movies, I would have asked them to tell me more about it... I bet they would have... :)

At 21:57 she has the last item that has to go in the box in her hand - a pickle jar. At 21:59 it morphs into a can. Something eerie about that store.

folks my age remember smokin was simply a way of life ,, no one knew it was bad for ya and no one knew the tobacco companies could regulate the nicotine thereby ensuring your dependence and come to find out that nicotine is one of the Most addictive drugs out there ,, I heard somewhere that it is as addictive as heroin ,,, Oh Yeah ,, smokin was COOL MAN , and if you didnt smoke you were a Square ,, You were Not COOL ,,
