she does have a lot of poetry readings. 'A Poem for Every day of the year'; 'The Book of Hopes' to name some. and she reads some books too, and recorded some plays. My personal favorites are: her reading of 'The Secret Garden', HBC as Rosalind in 'As You Like It', and as Amanda in 'Private Lives' which can be found here in YT. ^_^

Some poetry is more 'confusing' than others -- i.e. requires more reading into or connecting with than others. But by and large you get better at 'understanding' poetry as your read more of it. Not every one will necessarily click with you, and sometimes you might come across a poem that is completely baffling at one point of time in one mood, but is utterly sublime in another.

every poem should be read at least twice. sometimes a poem will get stuck in your head and you won't be able to forget about it for a long time. but maybe you will experience something similar to whatever it was that inspired the poet to write what they did, and then; aha.

@velveteyes79 Yeah, believe what you want. I like to think acting is a form of art. To me, each actor creates their own interpretation of the script and in the act of doing so, they're creating something original themselves. Hence the term, 'performing arts'. To be a great actor, you need originality, emotion, creativity and imagination. What's not artistic about that? Her acting style is original to me, like many other great actors. Children act as a part of lying so that they can get what they want. Actors act in theatres to impress people. You go to a gallery to be impressed by an artist's work. What's the difference? I don't know why you're so against this notion.. but you and I disagree. Deal done.

@velveteyes79 You. Have. Got. to be kidding me. You must live in a world of enclosure to think art is only limited to the things you describe of. Wow. I don't think there's anymore we can discuss. Wow. I was an art student and for years, was told to think outside the box. But hey, everyone's different right? You're seriously offending thousands of artists out there but who cares? It's just an opinion. lol

I really like this poem by Emily Dickinson called "I felt a Funeral, in my Brain". It's not a very happy poem but it definitely takes me somewhere else. Here it is: I felt a Funeral, in my Brain, And Mourners to and fro Kept treading - treading - till it seemed That Sense was breaking through - And when they all were seated, A Service, like a Drum - Kept beating - beating - till I thought My mind was going numb - And then I heard them lift a Box And creak across my Soul With those same Boots of Lead, again, Then Space - began to toll, As all the Heavens were a Bell, And Being, but an Ear, And I, and Silence, some strange Race, Wrecked, solitary, here - And then a Plank in Reason, broke, And I dropped down, and down - And hit a World, at every plunge, And Finished knowing - then -

I went out today looking for a slim volume but where every poem is gold and found it. It does not contain many different styles and only a few poets but like I say all gold Blake, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Byron, Shelley and Keats. Just what the Doctor ordered :)

06:48 "The End" by A. A. Milne. When I was One, I had just begun. When I was Two, I was nearly new. When I was Three, I was hardly me. When I was Four, I was not much more. When I was Five, I was just alive. But now I am six, I'm as clever as clever So I think I'll be six now Forever and ever. Ps. Somebody remember what The Architect said to Neo? That he was the Six.

I like how amazing these poets are at effortlessly transporting the reader into the feelings of what they’re describing. They write a line of words and you feel as if you’re watching a movie.
