In "The King's Speech" Helena Bonham Carter plays Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mum. In "The Crown" she plays Princess Margaret. So, she acted as her own daughter.

And in The King’s Speech, the actor who played the archbishop who crowned George VI is the same actor who portrays the Duke of Windsor this season. Another neat fact, in the 2008 movie The Queen (which was written by the same guy who’s writing this series), the actor playing Prince Charles is the same actor who played the Duke in the first two seasons!

We can see that Stephen is doing his very best to make her feel comfortable. The moment Stephen does the funny gesture while pouring tea, she laughs and that's when she relaxed. You can tell she's not very comfortable in the beginning(due to jet lag), but she slowly opens up. Very wholesome.

So, for the "oh she put the milk in first brigade" when using fine China teacups, you always put the milk in first, if you put the tea in first the heat can crack the cups. It's the only time you can put milk in first. It's all about looking after your fine China. When you are using a mug then you can put the milk in last.

Actually it made me confused as only lower class did it that way. Lower class couldn’t afford high quality bone china tableware and the tea cups crack easily when you pour hot tea in. Hence, lower class always pour milk in first when taking their tea. In contrast, upper class always pour tea in first. That has been always the way to tell a person’s class. Helena is from a blue blood family so she surely knows about that fact. I guess she just doesn’t give a shit about it.

@@ceyonorange They were using China cups, so she was right, milk first. To be fair the British adopted (stole) the drink and decided to add milk. Thats what we do, we take things from other places and try pretend it's ours and make up a load rules and connations to go with it 🤦♀️ I'm working class, so it's a mug and milk in last for me. In fact I'm going to make myself cuppa after I post this 😊 might have a biscuit to.
