We don't know much about the ISA compared to what we know about the Helghast people, that means we have an easier time to identify with the Helghast and their struggles, we see a repressed people with strong ideals and we aspire to have the same strength and certainty in our ideals. The game should not be about the ISA fighting the Helghast, it should be about the every day Helghast soldier who's sacrificing his life for the cause he believes in. I mean we see the Helghasts home world destroyed! and the developers don't expect us to relate with that kind of struggle? why do the developers expect us to keep cheering for the "American" ISA when they're the ones destroying the Helghasts home world. In the first game it was the Helghast who attacked the ISA and we could relate to wanting to stop them, but i feel the further we get in the series the more and more we see the ISA as the enemy rather than the defenders of justice and democracy. It's more beautiful to see the perspective of a helghast rather than an ISA soldier, who's self sacrificing to the core and that's why i think the developers of this game are focusing on the wrong side of the conflict.

The ISA is meant to invoke the apathetic arrogance of liberal democracies that think they are the end of history. It's meant to be similar to how news presenters in English speaking 1st world countries address war and actions in places like the Middle East like their actions are foregone conclusions

In comparison the helghast are reacting to several generations of hardship. A society that was crushed and had nothing to live for after having their world ripped from them and having to live on a world of dust with nothing to nr proud of. It's on these periods irl that reactions appear in the extreme in order to claw back some sense of self worth and it's extremely attractive to a people who barely eat and live their lives with nothing to look foward to

ISA and helghast are not bad guys or the good guys Bout did horrible stuff there is no good guys in war only the one who wins will claim they are good guys Lore is pretty cool helghast first colonise vekta then ISA bqnishes then on helgan they want to retake it then ISA wants to do a final solution on them again but helghast wanna do one on them as a revange but the whole plan backfires and they end up on vekta while bout sides wanna kill each other And in the last game you are shown that bout sides are maniacs ISA killing their own for trying to make a compromise

Let's hope. I so badly want Killzone 1 2 and 3 and al the spinoffs remastered/remade, following the same story, but looking more high tech as in the later games, but mixed with a WW2/1 feel like the first game, as was intended. I want to play through everything in one giant Killzone game, including a non-canon campaign of Helghan victory and conquering numerous planets, including Earth.

The ICSA are also a curious concept of a faction within the universe. They seem to be close allies of the empire and the complete opposite of the UCN and their ISA puppets, willing to fight for fullest independence and grant subjugated colonized planets membership into their sanctuary. I wanna learn more about their history, origins and their military and perhaps see it’s integration within the Helghan Empire while playing as one of them all the while fighting alone side the Helghast. Now that would be something.

I don't think they had the slightest clue. The accidentally wrote a whole grand opera that is one of the best discussions of nations and war, period, true and classic as any ancient myth or epic. It could be written to the setting of the 2nd Punic war, and it'd be considered a Shakespearean masterpiece. However with time I think the industry has realised what they made by accident. They don't let the Killzone games be updated for backward compatibility. Merch and cosplay is dampened by the themes and atmosphere, etc. It's really a suppressed masterpiece. I saw that the franchise's first official acknowledgement in over 10 years, (10 years ago I asked you for time, and that time was granted...) was just for a cosmetic reskin in the Last of Us 2 remaster.
