A helicopter in a convoy carrying the Iranian president has been involved in an accident, state media is reporting.
It is currently unclear whether Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was on board the helicopter that state media say experienced a hard landing.
The Interior Minister said rescuers were still trying to reach the site due to the difficult weather conditions.

Again, helicopters are dangerous even when properly maintained. Remember what happened to Frank G. Wells? Remember what happened to Davey Allison? The military is too inept to keep the people they want alive on the best of days. You can't out-stupid the mindset of a pilot who thought it was a good idea to fly in bad weather in terrain as bad as Iran's (mountainous, devoid of civilization, no food, no water, cold, etc).

The US alone hasn't got the power to turn a country into a economic shithole. If the country is poor, instead of blaming sanctions, take some accountability. Maybe it's due to oppressing half the population? Maybe it's due to the VERY restrictive Sharia law? Maybe it's due to the constant protests and civil disobedience? Maybe it's due to the fact that they are chasing a nuclear program, which makes their neighbors dislike them? I can think of a whole host of reasons why Iran is poor
