I got the Huey UH-1 as I transition from QuadCopters (Drones) to Helis, it was a great learner and an easy flyer It helped me go to, the OMPHobby M2V2, which is my daily flyer now.

I have found an interesting parallel between ham radio and rc helicopters. When the FCC removed the Morse code requirement from the licensing process, there was a loud moaning from some more “traditional” hams that the FCC was ruining the hobby. Doom and gloom was wide spread. Yet there are more licensed hams now than ever, and the annual hamfest in Dayton draws 30,000 visitors. Now I am hearing from the more “traditional” rc flyers that the GPS helicopters will ruin the hobby. It won’t. It will just bring more people in to rc flying. I’m K0AX.

I like to correct you on the statement for the inverted flying, you can change it in the software so it acts like a traditional flight controller. So if you want to learn 3d flight the right way you can. It’s called expert mode in the auto invert tab in the software settings. So while upside down if you push up on the stick the helicopter is coming down and vise versa. Just figured I mentioned that so people know you can fly it like other flight controllers.

The UH-1 does not have the inverted flight to switch on in the Software BTW , you cannot fly inverted with the scale model. Also, it is a shame that the recommended Flywing battery is not for sale anywhere

These are great, but since you sell the H-1 flight controller as a separate product, how about doing an installation video on some of the more common helicopters out there? I for one have an old Align T-Rex 450 that I am trying to do the install with more trouble than success. Thanks!

Great video, thank you for posting! I know FW has a 5000mah that fits the FW450 V3, but is one available to purchase through Helidirect that will allow the canopy to still close properly?

Can you remove the cantering on the left stick? And still have attitude hold if you manually move stick to 50%
