I have recently purchased a Helios at a flea market and the lens was in excellent condition but the aperture ring is rusted and broken So I took out the lens elements and adjusted the aperture ring in an oval shape and glued it with an adhesive it now produces oval cinematic bokeh, but fixed at f2.

I have just purchased one of the cine-modded Helios 44 lenses with the anamorphic adaptation from Retro Foto House though their Ebay store. This is my Real Name review: Summary: Most highly recommended, excellent product. I will purchase again in the future. Details: My lens was shipped the next morning, and arrived in under ten days, traveling from Ukraine to East Coast USA. The lens had been carefully packaged. The lens is spotlessly clean, without overt signs of use or age, with a Canon EF adaptor attached (as requested). The de-clicked aperture ring moves smoothly. The focus ring has some resistance, but is also smooth. I like the feel. I mount the lens on a focal reducer. As modified, this is not a clinically sharp lens, but a great addition to my arsenal, able to make beautiful images. I look forward to mastering my new tool.

Amazing shots. I have this lens moded w/Canon EF screw on adapter, however, when fully tightened, the flare is diagonal. Do you have any recommendations on how to adjust and tighten it so it's horizontal? Thanks!

you need to aling lens in adapter in order flare filter (normally this is a fine wire or fishing line) inside the lens be strictly vertical

Because crop factor would make it 116mm equivalent. Good for shooting eyebrows and nostrils.

Because it is fullframe lens. Speedbooster hepls to preserve genuine angle of view and gain additional stop of light
