I love Helix because Essential tools are built-in but I also want it have extention system for specific tasks.

They're working on it and will use the Steel language for it. github.com/steellang/Steel-lang

@@devonduty steel does not even have specifications. It will cost time and effort so why is it important?

@@indierusty I think they wanted it to be more dynamic than Rust (which makes sense for a plugin language) and have control of the language (the creator of Steel is also involved). Personally, I'm not sure if Steel is a good option and would've rather chosen Lua, which has a bigger ecosystem and is already successfully used in Neovim.

@@devonduty IIRC they didn't do it because it's not as easy to embed Lua in Rust as it is with C used in Neovim. But I'm not a dev so I don't really know.

01:10 injections are introduced in helix long time ago. but they worked with only one language. in latest release you can use them with multiple languages. templating languages can really benefit from this.

Interesting release. However, not everyone uses mac (in fact most people don't) so it would be nice if the keybindings for the more common Windows layout were either displayed on screen or mentioned. For example, Option-o is the same as Alt-o.

I really like it but I'm so used to nvim, and I have a work flow in vim that I can replicate in Helix yet.

It needs to be in your path and have the correct name. If the name is different, you need to set it up manually in the settings.

That already exists, it's called VIM.
