In the episode 7's trailer alastor explained that a smile shows that you're the one in control and can intimidate your enemies so.....yes alastor can't stop smiling but that doesn't mean it's always happy

Alastor must have some crazy HUGE secret that he's carrying around to have the sheer BALLS to go up all deadass against Lucifer like that. I actually started thinking about it and I would bet that Alastor has some kind of ties to Charlie's mom Lilith in some way. It would certainly explain why someone as powerful as him is so cooperative with Charlie and her goals.

Three things: 1. Hazbin Hotel created a new obsession called "Alastor having beef with other demons and, regardless of whether he could actually beat them in a fight, figuring out exactly what to say in order to screw with them best". 2. At 1:42 Alastor sings about the hotel staff being Charlie's family. Since Episode 2, I figured the hotel might divert from rehabilitation to a found family dynamic, and Alastor's line here makes me feel validated, even if he's just saying it to take a stab at Luci. 3. What on earth are the others' reaction to this?? They must've been like "Alastor's never acted like a dad to Charlie before now, he HAS to be doing this to get under Lucifer's skin, but what is he going starting beef with the king of Hell?????"

While I do think Alistair cares about Charlie, or at least has grown to over the course of the season, the "Your daughter calls me Daddy now" was almost certainly just him fucking with Lucifer, because he’s right he was the one there for Charlie, supporting her when neither of her parents were.

People say Alastor is using her but I noticed the look of disgust he had far before Lucifer showed up. Plus its been MONTHS of living with Charlie at this point and Lucifer has been a no show until this moment. He was so uninvolved he didn't know where she was living, about the Hazbin Hotel project, or that she was bi. Now let's look at Alastor. He has never done anything directly harmful to Charlie or her guests. When Vaggie was in his face or Charlie criticized him he just took it. He could have killed Sir Pentious's egg minions but never laod a hand on them despite being so annoyed his eye began to twitch. He has been there whenever Charlie needed him, constantly fixing the hotel, and he actually did a commercial on TV despite his hatred of it because CHARLIE needed him. And lets not forget HE and LILITH were gone for 7 years at the exact same time. Charlie's parents are separated. So.... Is Alastor the new man in the picture?? Or is Lilith the one Alastor has a deal with?? I just find it suspicious he was there just so conveniently in the pilot. That he has staid and caused 0 issues besides his first joke tv ad. Hearing about him from Mimzy and Husk and everyone else it doesn't seem like he would be here UNLESS it had to do with Lilith. Plus he told Mimzy off when Charlie wasn't even paying attention to him anymore. He wasn't loud so she definitely couldn't hear him defending the hotel's ideals on redemption. ... I think he is being serious.

Given Alastor's character, I'd say Lilith being the one to make a deal with Alastor is likely why he started doing this, but I'd agree with you that he seems to be getting attached to the hotel :)

Yes. There is no way that Alastor actually sees Charlie as his daughter. He's doing this to either push Lucifer to be a better father or just to piss him off. Alastor truly does not care about the hotel nor Charlie's redemption plan. He's doing all of this for his personal gain which we're still not sure what it is
