How is the Vero S system unclamping the vises on the machine pallet? Is there air supplied through the pallet by the machine tool or is there an interface on the robot end-of-arm tooling that is supplying air that's allowing the vises to be removed?

On the machine pallet the vices remain clamped. Unclamping is done outside of the machine by the gripper. To release the vices from fixture machine´s pneumatic function is used (integrated media interface).
