Im getting really nostalgic when I hear this song. I buyed the Helloween album Walls of Jericho back in 1986 (and drove my dad crazy) and the last track was this song, How many Tears. The original singer was Kai Hansen, the singer with the guitar. It also reminds me of the original Helloween drummer, Ingo "mr smile" Scwictenberg who passed away due to mental ilness in the 90s. RIP Ingo. Wonderful reaction. ❤

There is a story about Helloween. This kind of music was not available in the GDR before the fall of the Wall. Helloween members tied music cassettes to balloons and sent them across the border. Maybe some of these airmails even reached Poland?

In the eighties, this song would be called a speed metal song. Their first two albuns are very fast paced and intense.

I want you to get familiar with the three vocalists: The one who sang the first verse was Andi Deris who has been the current singer. The second verses are sang by Kai Hansen who has been the main vocalist of Gamma Ray and early Helloween (1984/1985/1986). The bald guy wearing the red jacket is Michael Kiske.

Helloween is always synonimous of happiness. I just had go to a concert of them 1 month ago here in Brazil, a blast! It was my 4th. You always leave these shows filled of joy and energy to carry on with your life no matter what are you might struggling against. Next reaction of them should be Keeper of the Seven Keys, a masterpiece. I recommend a passing by in the lyrics before too.

Wonderful reaction, How many tears is one of my favorite songs. Powermetal = Happy Metal Kai Hansen, yellow guitar founder and singer at the first album Walls of Jericho. Left 1988. Michael Weikath, blue guitar founder Markus Großkopf, bass founder Michael Kiske, bald head, second singer, 1987-1993 Andi Deris, third singer since 1994 Sacha Gerstner, silver guitar since 2002 Dani Löble, drums since 2005 The original drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg died tragically 1993. Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske left the band and came back in 2017, they are all active members now.

Another one, among small group of bands, that I used to be a big fan of and had a pleasure seeing them live. Glad you like them. They are pioneers of power metal. I guess the whole genre was born with them.

Even if Helloween mainly is known for their power metal, the very early of their releases are more in the thrash metal direction, wich could be simplified to a mix between heavy metal and punk rock. However, when the bands musicial direction moved to more komplexed and longer songs with more challenging parts for both musicians and singer, not only to be fast but also very melodic... that's where it went to be power metal.

How can you not know Helloween? They were headliners at the Wacken Vestival and are extremely well known around the world. In addition, Poland and Germany are neighbors, even if we didn't always like each other for historical reasons, but you should know your neighbors a little better. For example, I know very well that Poland also has good bands like Hedonism or Arman. Let's get a little closer together again, we Germans don't bite anymore and we really like our neighbors. Most people considered Helloween as the inventor, pioneer or godfather of power metal. If you like punk pls pls pls react ro i want out by helloween.. I think you will enjoy it alot..

Helloween are the creaters and the fathers of power metal..... Today power metal is the style of havy metal most played whith more bands in the world....😂

I loved this band back in the day as you pair would say. Hope you are enjoying your Romanian move. Helloween often perform at Wacken with bonfire probably at some of the same gigs as nightwish.

I saw them on the FIRST FIRST show of the Reunion World Tour...!! opened the tour here in my city Monterrey México! october 2018....!!! When the "infamous" play back of Michael Kiske....and the band they were not yet friends or good partners jajaja (they are divided on two hotels... the "Michael Weikath Group" and the "Kai Hansen Group" jejeje...now they are all friends!!

You can tell its Wacken with the horned animal head lit up, if you notice it's on lots of nightwish songs. They are very energetic, there are a lot of really good German rock bands.
