+Drama Llama That's exactly it. Ramsay is told by producers to play it up for cameras and the audience. He's fiery, there's no doubt, but if you watch the British versions of any of his shows, they're so much more mellow than anything you'd find him on in the US. Ramsay does what he does best, but in the context of his on-screen conduct, he's simply bought and paid for. A lot of what he does on this show could be considered assault and/or battery under normal circumstances. Him also calling people "fat cow" (for example) is a complete violation of legal rights for employees when it comes to harassment. He's considered a manager in this sense, and whoever owns Hell's Kitchen is the employer. Ramsay smashing the egg against that guy's chest would be considered battery, and he could be arrested and/or sued for it. I bet the contestants are also supposed to sign waivers for this prior to filming so no legal action gets involved.
