The Aegir collection from H/H is the pinnacle of sail equipment, along with the best companies like Musto, Gill, Gaastra and Henri Lloyd the like. I just bought one of these for my Foul weather gear collection, I have to say its one piece every sailor/ boater needs this as a shell system. Its not lined like others so layering is a must. The hand pockets are where they are to keep your hands in position and ready when using winches or handling sheets. Netting for the hood is there to help drain water when stowing the hood back in its place. Great construction on this one. I have the Musto BR2 as well and have to say they are both amazing foul weather pieces Look up Musto if you have it in your city and you'll see its as amazing as H/H
