Being in the mountains in the summer is no joke and you need a jacket that can keep up with rapidly changing conditions and temperatures. The Loke jacket from Helly Hansen is a no-nonsense shell that is waterproof yet still super lightweight and breathable. The fit is generous enough to be comfortable when it's warmer and still give you room for some layers when you get up to the higher elevations. Whether it's running, hiking, snowshoeing, trekking or just heading to work, the Loke jacket will have you covered.

I just bought one partially due to your review. I love Helly Hansen products, they are well made, fit me well, and are attractive. I'm taking mine on a trip to the UK and Ireland in a few weeks. It will be great for hiking/camping/general purpose use. I like the "pack it in it's own pocket" feature. Once you figure it out, it's really easy. You do have to be careful when zipping the various zippers on this jacket, so you don't get them caught on the fabric. I guess this is true of most of these types of jackets. Overall, it is a good value on a well made jacket.

Hi there this is a strange question in regards to the product but do you know if it's stain resistant? I was think of getting this in white (because my store only offers white or black) so you keeping it cleanish is preferable :) Also really great video, best review I've seen on this jacket!

Some mentioned the waterproof level, can u advise if it’s really waterproof say under medium rain for 3 hours?

Thank you, I saw the packable tag so your post was helpful. Please explain what the velcro strip on the inside is for, can't seem to fold/role up the hood with or without said strip.

I have 5 of these that I use for running. Best running jackets I have ever had. To solve the hood problem I just wear a ball cap under it and then tighten up the cinch straps just a little...this keeps the hood in place when it gets windy too, while the ball cap keeps the hood out of my eyes. I might acquire a couple more of these jackets for travel too.

Hello. I wonna know, if I have it fully zipped, would I still be able to put on the hood with ease? Or would I have to unzip?

I use TNF Venture rain jacket which is have similar features, one tip on packing the jacket into its pocket is you can use it as a pillow ;) anyways have fun hiking the 14ers, you definitely need to post a video on the trip!

Great tip with the pillow action! We may have to include that in a "Gear Bag" episode on of these days. I got one and I just got back from a 1 hour walk out in the rain. I'm soaking wet. So I'm not really sure what this "Helly tech" does. It's fairly windproof though. And I like that it folds into its own pocket. But it not actually being waterproof is really bad, and I'm gonna have to get another jacket. Very disappointed.

A word of advice regarding the Locke jacket is that the hood does not cover the entire head of an adult male if you are physically active. As in walking, biking etc. So I would not recommend it as an every day rain jacket. As in you will get rain on your forhead and the front of the scalp even though the hood is up. Due to its compactness it works well as a emergency rain jacket in a day pack though. Also it works well for running when I do not want to use the hood anyway. That is what I mainly use it for.

I have a similar THE NORTH FACE LEONIDAS, the material and finish in Leonidas is superior. But the good point of this HELLY HANSEN LOKE JACKET is the transformation in a little bag. In a trail, every space in backpack or vest is important.

What happens when it rains to the fabric? I just bought a HH Odin Moon Light jacket and for some reason it seem to absorb some water it gets wrinkles or little craters or dimples where the water has been and it has the same helly tech performance fabric.

+MightyCristo This is a different material than the Odin Moon Light Jacket. We've got that jacket also and it doesn't actually seem to be "absorbing" anything, it just seems that the softer material lays down a bit. This is more of a traditional rain fabric. Apart from feeling the coolness of the water through the fabric, we've not really noticed any big difference.
