@@commandvisionfire have you ever came a cross a house fire that was cause be a defaulted electric hot water heater. My family owed a house that was 81 years old the hot water heater exploded from the inside causing a electric fire I'm glad that I put in and electric shut down switch on the breaker box which as far as I know in not recommend it even required in the state of Texas. Basically what a shut down switch is if there's a short or fire it trips the main breaker cause the short to stay within the hot wire and it's kinda like a ground fault interspetor (GFI) outlet but for 240 and bigger

I love the command view. I wondered about the ladder, it was half in the window, making it not useful for bailouts. The fire was being fought from the inside which would result in the fire being pushed out of the window and towards the ladder. As soon as it was put up I wondered what it was for and started saying it's last rights. Was it balloon type construction to have fire from the basement through all floors? Overall great job on a tricky fire. Thank you for sharing your high quality videos. My hat is off to everyone, from dispatch to the nozzle operator and everyone in between. A well trained, organized, professional department that is an inspiration to all Fire Fighters.

nice perspective. what are your ladders made of, aluminum or magnesium? it seems that the second would be unsuitable because the metal could burn, but i know aluminum can catch fire too. in any event, i wondered why the ladder was left in the flames, but guessed that in all the confusion, it was the least of the concerns. what was the outcome of the alarm at the warehouse?

I have a question about the ladder placement in the second-floor window. Shouldn't it have been placed to the side of the window to avoid the fire damage that it surly incurred? I was taught to do that, especially in case of a flashover explosion. What are your thoughts?
@FromGamingwithLove0456
@FromGamingwithLove0456 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on what the ladder is being used for- you'd have been taught to put it to the side if you were going to smash it to ventilate (if that's what was called for)... or under the sill angled properly if you were planning on using it to enter, and under the sill but at a shallow angle to offer a bail out option for interior crews... Maybe you'd extend it over the window if you were planning on rigging a system to lower someone at some point- There was some discussion about the topic to your question in the other video that is of the same fire... I think it got placed there with the intention to move it- but then things got distracting and it wasn't noticed until it was too late. A lot of good commentary from the chief over in that video if you go check it out.
@brucestambaugh

@@FromGamingwithLove0456 Thanks. I appreciate your explanations. When I trained many years ago, we were taught to always put the ladder to the side for all of the reasons you mentioned. Of course, over time and with experience, training changes based on the latest best practices.

Hi, I really enjoy your videos. I do have one question. What conditions would lead to a decision to go defensive on a fire instead of an interior attack? @pirox2720

There are a number of contributing factors on that call, structure, how big of fire, if for some reason the fire won't stay knocked down and others. Chief Decker uploaded a couple of videos in the past where they had to go defensive on things if you haven't seen them yet.
@commandvisionfire

There are a number of factors that would dictate a defensive operations. Things like condition of the building, the amount of fire involved, and available resources just to name a few. Each situation is different and the IC must look at the totality of the entire situation utilizing risk analysis to determine if defensive operations are appropriate.

Excuse me, as safe as they can be. I love watching you're videos, they are very eye opening. Without going into too much information, I was trapped in a house fire as a wee girl and fire petrifies me, but in a strange way watching these videos helps me with the traumatic memories I have.
