Do instructors remember what it was like to be a nursing student? I doubt mine do.

Ive never really been depressed but for the first time, 4 months into studying nursing, my mental health is messed up

I'm so tired of school period. I'm in the LPN program and we start practicum soon then pinning, but first we have finals and final skills, my grades are the lowest I have ever had since starting college. I'm so down and depressed. I am still passing but I am not happy. My classmates are no help they're all young immature girls . I'm 36 and I don't find every little thing funny. I don't fit in at all. 😢 I can't wait to be done with school for a while. I definitely need a break before I bridge.

Yes, I feel like I'm losing my will/spark to keep going. I'm thinking of all these things that are in the back of my mind like the nursing student clicks/competition in programs, comparing myself to others (some of my cousins are RNs and I feel like being an LVN isn't good enough, even though I want to become an RN in the end), the time it took for me to accomplish LVN (that journey was 9 yrs since I have taken my prerequisites for the first time back in 2010-2012, lost my dad to liver cancer before I got into an RN school in 2013, got booted out and remediated again and again) time passed and before I knew it, I had to take my prereqs again since 5 yrs passed. In 2019 I was unsure what direction to go, but I tried LVN school, it was mentally draining and tougher than RN in my opinion and I graduated in fall 2019. Now I'm retaking my last prerequisite (physiology) and I want to take a break from studying, prepping for school, I just want to not be in school for the rest of the year and just work as an LVN. I was thinking of preparing for the TEAS test next year to apply for RN programs. I hope this break after this class will help. My brain feels numb and foggy and it's hard to remember things I've learned in previous classes. I was better at studying when I was in my early 20s, now in in my early 30s. What do you think? I am just fucking lost. I do not understand critical thinking. I bust my ass and keep getting poor grades. So have I lost my motivation. Heck yeah ! Also the faculty treat me like shit and are not supporting me.
