For Dave’s army, he could call them the Avalonion Knights, since in some bits of Arthurian lore, king Arthur’s body was sent to Avalon after his death by the hand of Mordred. Additionally for fluff, and if y’all were planning to do a narrative campaign in 40K, you could have the Avalonion Knights hunting for The Holy Grail, a powerful artifact made by the God Emperor himself, that was lost during the Horus Heresy

For Jazza's Space Bears, I know it would be a stretch, but there should be a character or unit named after Corporal Wojtek. He's a bear that served in the Polish army during World War II, he helped supply artillery shells.

I feel for the "Knight Chapter," a good name would be "Squires of Guilliman," based on their Ultramarines heritage, or "Emperors Bannermen," to lean more into the "knighty" area. In addition, you could also add the idea of the Emperor as the effigy or avatar of Arthur themselves, and to have their founding world on a lush planet is a gift from the Emperor himself.

The Space Bears hybernation sounds like a cultrual adaptation of the standard Space Marine "sus-an" membrain, which most genestock has (bar the Imperial Fists I believe).

Chevalier is French for Knight, so maybe Chevalier la table ronde mashed together 40k style? And whenever your warlord dies you say "Le roi est mort, longue vie au roi!". For the Lady of the Lake, you may have to make a separate custom force of Adepta Sororitas called The Maidens of Albion with the Canoness Superior holding the title of Lady of the Lake.

For the Knights, the Arthur representative definitely needs an Excalibur :D

I know it might not be the strongest choice on the tabletop, but it would be really cool if Dave did an Imperial soup army. Have the marines that you're already working on, custom knights (like the Green Knight), a custom Sisters of Battle order for the Lady of the Lake.

Knights of Avalon/ Avallon! Hope this helps! The story of the bear I think would be interesting if the Chapter master attempted to save the mother and cub from a Chaos monster or twist of fate a giant Wolf! He succeeded in saving the mother but was too late for the cub! So the mother bear became his spirt Animal and he wears the cub pelt to remind him and the chapter of the bond to the bear! The Necrons sound cool and I like the color scheme. To make the more custom you could add more Energy glow to show that the faction bleeds radiation!

I don't know enough about the lore to make any useful contributions to the comments, but I'm pumped to see their passions come out!

the ideas sound cool :) if i were in charge i would paint my bear librarians as pandas. maybe techmarines as polar bears? there is so much one could do with bears :D

Also wanted to say, im working on a custom army of my own, called constructs of chaos. they are the idea of chaos/warp magics resurrecting the leftover bits of soldiers from battles, and so far have two different types of models. There is a fun, goofy looking blob squad with various guns, weapons, hands, body parts in general sticking out of them. the other one is more serious looking and scary type disturbing guys that take various forms more like creepy crawlies. looking forward to seeing all those new armies you guys are making too!

I could imagine Rob's army having a very interesting "fallen angel" design that revolves necrons with dark ripped wings and open, glowing abdomens. There could totally be some lore about having consume biomass in order to preserve their perfection and stature in the dynasty.

For Dave's army, how about something like the Caliburnian Order, Caliburn was another name for Excalibur in some stories or the sword Arthur originally pulled from the stone. Keeps the same feel but not as widely known.

Omg, the space bears look so good. Love the cavemen aesthetic they have, makes me think of them as primal, ice-world hunters, but mixed with the helmet and shoulder pads that almost have a rustic soviet look to the, all blends really nicely with the bear themes.

Hey Jezza, If your going full bear on this, then you could use different bear species to signify the seperate squads/battalions. For example there are 8 species of Bear (the 4 most commonly known are Black Bear, Brown Bear, Panda Bear and Polar Bear), you could say the Brown Bear Boys (wow thats an awesome accidental alliteration) are your patient group, the Black Bear Boys are your bazerkers that just rush in, and obviously the Polar Bear and Panda Bear Squads are your enviromental warriors for snow and jungle planets. The paint schemes for the Panda Party (im so sorry for all this alliteration lol) could include bamboo or the 40K equivallent in its design with bigger belly armour like the nergal death guard plague marines. Ok I'm gonna stop there before I write an essay, thats my suggestion, hope you like it. (OMG Black Bear Battalion, ...so sorry) :P

Jazza's dude should save the bear cubs from a rogue male bear. If he killed the cub and wore the skin, no Mama Bear would take him in, she would stop at nothing to kill him. Speaking as a Mama Bear myself.

All really unique and inspiring ideas here! For the Arthurian space marines, obviously you could incorporate the lady of the lake, but I think it would be really cool to see a librarian or other psyker as Morgan le Fay! There’s a lot of 3rd party lady space marine head bits that would work. For the bear marines, I mean...you could make the chapter leader into...a bear....and give him a boyfriend, lol. As a fellow necron player, there’s a really cool and easy conversion you can do that really makes an army look unique and soulless, and that’s using deathmark heads in place of the normal necron ones. There’s something good and disconcerting about the one eye look.

Primaris Primursa Chapter Master bear story: he came upon them during a tyranid invasion, where the tyranids killed mama bears cubs and he killed them all. From then on they were always together.

For Rob’s Necrons you could do some object source lighting from the weapons or the ground to represent the radiation. He could paint them up, and Jazza could do a airbrush glaze.

For Dave I think a good name would be the Knights of Avalon. As Avalon is a sort of mythical special island where Exclaiber is forged and where king Arthur is brought to be healed from his mortal wounds. So in this case with the lore space could be considered avalon in this case. I think referencing avalon in the chapter works very well.

Chevalier* said in the french style is a pretty good version of the word that still gets the idea across and fits with Knights pretty easily. Knights Chevalier "Chev-a-lee-ay".

I would like to see how Jazza project a whole WH40k miniature in VR, maybe something crazy like a big space ship with a lot of marines and aliens fighting together in it, print it 3D and than let it to be glued and painted by Rob without saying him, what was his previous concept. Dave can help Rob by giving a lot of advices etc in any means (like a verbal tutorial etc) but doesn't help "phisicaly" :) Dave can reanimate Jazza if he die of fear while looking at someone who is painting his creation :D

Rob could turn the head into a Sigal so there is still that image, but it's not their head. The heads I would personally still see if they can be custom tho or different. Some small unique element.

it would be cool if some of the knights had some massive tower shields or something similar, i love all three concepts my favorite is the space bears and they are basicly exactly the kinda style i was thinking for my space wolf army (tho more wolves then bears) id love to see rob come back once he has more experience and do a sick custom army but for now keep it simple and enjoy the structure of a normal one with a little bit of flair

For the knights chivalrous, you could use some of the adeptus titanicus knight models for armour plates or biotic limbs to match that knightly look in another way! As well for a name change you could go with "Knights of" or "Phalanx of" and use their homeworlds name at the end

It would be cool if one unit in the Arthurian had some sort of modified power sword to be like Excalibur or some reference to it. Maybe one is pulling a sword out of the ground. Idk, just an idea. I love these concepts!

For Jazza's Custom Army: PLEASE Incorporate the Ursa Minor and Ursa Major as unique heavy weapons or vehicles for your Space Bears. Dave: It could be really cool to incorporate some of the foes of the Round Table as captured enemy beast that are forced to serve in combat, and maybe incorporate a Mordred company as a group that EVENTUALLY splinters out against them. For Rob: It could be really cool to pull some inspiration from characters like Ultron or Brainiac, and The Borg for how to organize your army. Maybe not have each one be the same entity, but they all branch from the same base entity but isn't organized the way Necrons may normally be.

The lady in the lake could be a dreadnaught and the lady could be the spirit in the machine, you could use Jazza's Apocalypse Ghost mini as a sort of spirit emerging from the dreadnaught.

Dave - Love to see some adaption of the Green Knight. Also if there is a Lady of the Lake, perhaps she is from a Sororitas Order who protects artifacts of the Emperor and gifts Excalibur (badass weapon of choice) with the expectation of it being returned to the Order upon the death of Arthur. Jazza - Don't know if you've ever heard of or played Smash Up but that game has a faction called Bear Cavalry (essentially Russians riding bears). If you need any more inspiration for naming or puns they may be worth checking out. Considering incorporating Drop Bears at all? Perhaps these are the Deep Strike guys? Just a random idea. Rob - I had a crazy idea for a custom Mechanicus army that were a Heretical cult that worshiped Nekrons believing the Silent King to be a kind of Machine God. The idea was that they became slaves to a Nekron Dynasty that was in a pretty desperate situation and in great disrepair upon reawakening. Essentially they allow the Cult to live because they are useful for the Dynasty to rebuild. You could fluff this kinda lore into your own Nekrons to give a further reason for custom models that look more like the cyber-design you seem to be going for. Perhaps your genocidal leader wipes out the cult once your forces have regained their strength and rejoined the Nekron force. Of course you can also ignore my crazy lore that is Heretical to both Imperium and Nekron, I get overexcited about 40K.

To Dave: maybe call them the Knights Excalibur, and their Chief Librarian is called or has the title of Merlin, and a right of passage for prospective Chapter Masters would be to pull out a sword that the Chief Librarian psychically embedded into a stone, and whoever pulls it out becomes the next chapter master, and although anyone in the chapter can attempt to pull the sword out, it's usually only the Captains who partake in the trial.

I literally had the same Arthurian idea for a chapter myself, but never got around to actually putting them together. I had named them the Shield's Vigilant, also could be known as the Imperial Shields. Their mission was to patrol their section of the galaxy, purging the xenos and heritics they came across. They too recruited from a feudal world, which held tournaments to see the victors "ascend" to fight the war in the heavens. Each company represents their captain's , or shield lord's, crest colors upon both shoulder's trim with the squads Sgt's crest on the pauldron. The Chapter icon on the other pauldron. It was just very strange to see you have the same idea! very excited to see them finished Edit - Spelling

Do you have or are there plans to show the build and creation of the custom armies? I am liking all the concepts for the custom armies makes me think about creating my own chapter of space marines. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to hopefully more in this idea line.
