Some puffiness is expected. But make sure you are cleaning plaque (fuzzy stuff) off your teeth or bad stuff can happen to your teeth!

my gums were really irritated with braces and i got them off a little over a week ago and my gums are pretty regular now!

My gums are really puffy even if I brush them everyday ( 3 times) idk why

Also, schedule regular cleanings with your hygienist, especially during your time in braces!

this happened to me a couple of weeks ago, it was so sore i couldn’t eat on that side of my mouth even though it was only swollen at the front corner. me being me i didn’t make a big deal, and it went down about a week later anyway, oops :)

My gums have been swollen and puffy since I got them, around a year and a month ago. I’ve tried to brush gently and with different brushed and have tried a lot of tactics to help. I have no idea what to do anymore and my orthodontist thinks I don’t brush enough, but I do. Can someone help?

Hypersensitivity usually will involve the corners of your mouth. Hyperplastic gingiva with braces is common and can be taken care of with hydrogen peroxide mouthwash. Usually subsides with regular scaling. Allergy can be one of the causes but not always.

Which is why I wore two brackets without wires for two days to make sure I wasn’t allergic it also helped me realize how getting them on doesn’t hurt that bad but taking them off is kinda a pain

I had braces for almost three years and I had grown those . After removing braces my dentist gave some gel to massage on those twice everyday (of course brushing and flossing included) . It was oddly satisfying. It's a little painful but feels nice massaging,you can see the infected tissue just goes away . I kinda missed after it was gone

WHAT wait when you get braces your gums swell up and you have to do salt water swishes😫. The only resin whey I’m saying this is because about a month ago I had to get my gums cut to get to my Teeth that we’re going crooked and not down to rot my baby teeth and for the hole not get infected so I had to do that about 6 times and day which did NOT taste good so ya have a good day😂.

So I have a question, a year and a half ago I got braces and insurance paid for it. After my orthodontist had left me 3 months without treatment and my palate expander relapsed. Now I’m out of my braces and I’ve noticed my jaws are starting to hurt again, I’m allergic to the metal in my hawley retainer and it’s super itchy and painful. My family can’t afford to keep paying for this stuff. Should I just stop wearing the retainers? How could I get insurance to pay for it again?
