Thanks! in parallel with HEMA, I did sport fencing (epee and sabre) and I trained strenght in a gym. It's good to mix it to improve fencing overall :)

What are the rules on out of bounds here? One foot in bounds is okay but both feet is invalid?

Exactly, as long you touch pool area - you are in the pool. (Just like in fencing in general and other major HEMA systems in Europe)
