Grateful for all of you who survived. My sister in law died in her bathroom alone at the age of 37. The primary cause was hypertension. We didn’t know she had high blood pressure as she kept it private. As a nurse, I see elevated blood pressure all the time. Unfortunately some people think because they “feel fine” that there is no harm to it. Yet...the damage inside is occurring, this is why it’s called the “silent killer”. Please aim for an ideal blood pressure. It’s preventable. Life’s can be saved. ❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's incredibly sad she was so young. I've always had low BP, like 96/54. Easter Sunday I had a severe headache that I couldn't relieve. After over 4 hrs of trying, I went to the ER and they life flighted me for a SAH. I'm 46 and really had no warnings, other than the headache, which I'd had before. Now I have to use a walker, and I fall and drop stuff all the time. It's also very difficult to text. When I type, it often either makes no sense or I repeat words. So, I apologize for any errors in this reply or if anything doesn't make sense. I start occupational, physical. and speech therapy at home on Monday. Hopefully I can recover. I wish they would find a way find a way to educate people about these health threats before it's too late.

@@firdausothman8869 Prayers to your father 🙏 ... The treatment I did for myself weather it was unbearable & frustrating was walking & moving the body/joints. Patience is the key bcz frustration doesn't help any that's what I've learned ... self/family will help recovery. I went to Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture in San Jose California for two weeks it did help but it does cost $$$ therapy/hotel/food etc.. It does get better but depends on the person how willing they want to work on themselves. Everyday is a struggle ... I pushed myself to walk on my own & I didn't care if I fell ... I kept pushing! I can walk slow & somewhat walk a little faster but it is patience a person needs to heal. Prayers to your father 🙏 & the people who love him!!! Oh ... acupuncture for stroke too & mild messages to help circulation helps ... its not a quick fix ... it depends on the stroke the person had. Best of luck to you all !!!! 🙏 Positivity & prayers that's what will help him get through this.

I have a diffuse AVM thirty years now since diagnosis, had three surgeries in '89 (actually tomorrow is my thirtieth anniversary of the first one) and SRS in '90 neither was successful though a clipping during the first surgery I'm told bought me time. Then I had a heammorrhage in '15, and two doses of cyberknife in '16, a CT scan in Aug '17 showed no change, then I had another heamorrjage in Nov '17, most of the blood thankfully went into me cerebro spinal spaces and I recovered fairly quickly thank god I was very lucky! I'm due another scan in Aug '19 but am trying not to expect much. I also had epilepsy since diagnosis which the first heamorrhage cleared up!I'm pretty tired of it now, but I still like life and my family of origin keep me going. Thanks for the video, it's very straight forward and easy to understand.

Ur loved one's had traumatic brain injury which has different approach from medical cause, which is being focused in this lecture. Overall, despite of the underlying cause of brain injury, either trauma or medical the prognosis is poor though it depends on the extent of injury. What is the prognosis for patients who have had a rupture from an AVM? 76 yr old female, had a stroke around 12am, didn’t put 2 and 2 together for hours at the ER, transferred over to specialist hospital 6 hours later. They opened her back of skull to relieve pressure, they drained alot of blood and they found the tiny leak and fixed it. Now she’s sedated but not with propofol. Do they tend to come out of this? Will they be in bad shape should they survive? The docs said that she’ll be closely monitored over the next 7 days in the ICU as they hope she starts to come out and respond slowly I guess. Any hope in this case? Thnx

This video should be labelled, "Causes of a Hemorrhagic Stroke". There is absolutely no information explaining what occurs following the rupturing of the vessels. How does this affect the brain stem? What specific symptoms does this produce? I see everybody in the comments labelling how great and informative this video was, yet it only answered 25% of what you should know about a stroke. Horrible video considering its from an educational provider.

Why in hemorrhagic stroke the BP remains high? Eventough there is a blood loss
@SarumanTheStupid5 жыл бұрын
Because the heart is compensating for the blood loss and continues to increase bp as much as it can! You're not losing SO much blood that it'll bottom out as fast as if you had a femoral hemorrhage.
