We take to the skies again in the magnificent Hype Performance Group H145 in 84 Sqn (Akrotiri, Cyprus) livery for a HEMS air ambulance mission to Folkestone docks.

I’ve been flying the H145 since it came out, but lately I’ve been enjoying the Mini 500 for the minimalist cockpit and the epic visibility!

I fly mainly the Cowan MD500 for helicopters, what an absolute hotrod, it darts around a humming bird. Than it lands like a lawn dart, well it does when I fly it anyway :) Seriously can't wait for the Blackbird Huey, that won't be a day one purchase so much as an hour one purchase !

Nice vid and flying, I've been flying the 145 for a few months now and love it with the action pack and Neofly. Got a OE XAM cyclic recently which I'm relearning with no spring, wow what a difference. I no longer have to trim and like you, prefer flying with ATC off. Bought the Cowan SIM H125 before my cyclic and found it almost unflyable but with my cyclic I can now tame her and enjoying her immensely, also the Mini500 is a great solo touring heli and a no brainer for around £12. Keep up the good work o7

I flew on a Bk117 as a medic here in Chicago. I fly Msfs as a hobby and just started getting into Helis (Bell 407). This is one sweet looking Heli Sim experience. Gotta buy it after watching your video that I happened to find. Really cool man!

@@Dreamsofwings I bought and downloaded the H145. Havent even scratched the surface on what it can do... Haven't bought the add on yet. Just flew around Chicago. Wow! I flew it on the more realistic flight model minus rotor torque since I don't have anti torque pedals. Flies like it's on rails compared to the Bell 407. Neat Sim experience. They did a great job. I'm going to have fun with this.

@@garymarch4711 it’s certainly going to be a lot more stable than the 407 that’s for sure. I find turning the A.TRIM off for doing any kind of hovering, hover taxiing, landing, taking off gives you much better control too.

I fly mostly the MD902 and EC135 on Flightgear and sometimes I use the MD500E if I want a little thing to chill and fly. Love the video though :)

Great video! Have you tried the synthetic vision on the MFD? It’s the soft key on the bottom right that is labelled SVS, it comes in useful for mountainous terrain.

Loved this video! I'm fairly new to FS2020 and only have about 30 mins on helis at the moment using the two default models, I've been mainly learning GA flight in the Cessna 152. I really like the look of this mod and will probably treat myself to it and the action pack over the weekend. What are the 'springless sticks' you mentioned near the end of the video? I'm currently flying helis on my very old Saitek Cyborg, which gets a little sticky near the centre and it makes fine adjustment tricky, so I've started looking for a replacement.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching! A springless stick does not recenter so it is more like the real thing ie you can make movements in the cyclic without having to constantly apply force against the springs to stop it going back to the middle.

That dip in power at 25:15 is a glitch and happens to me too. I’m sure Hype are working on a fix. You were at 60kts with calm winds, so well above ETL.

Short answer is that now that H145 did have their own simulation of it but in latest betas, which I use and which are Asobo helicopter flight model based, they are advertised as simulating VRS. Yes my approaches are steep and not helping myself there.

I fly the H145 almost exclusively. I have bought the 500E but so far It's as bad as the default helicopters. I know helicopters are challenging to fly but not almost impossible.

The 500E is certainly very twitchy. I find I have to 'tune' into it for a few minutes before I can get anywhere close to stable flight. loving this latest build of the H145 though.

@@philipfoster7269 best thing to do is join their Discord but also check the Hype Operations Centre as that will always tell you. If you don't have the Ops centre check your HPG downloads page. Give me a shout if that doesn't help.

I upgraded to the most recent version too a few days ago, definitely a different beast to fly. How are you enabling/disabling the cyclic trim?

Excellent videos but if I may say so, the normal standard to land at a hospital helipad is usually to over fly it to survery it & then turn to descend & lose airspeed too while aiming to land into the wind, the abnormal high alpha pull over the hospital really wouldnt happen :-)

This is using the Action Pack expansion. This will allow you to fly missions and adds animation to the crew.

Many thanks! The different colour in the vegetation is from Rex Accuseasons. It won’t change the ground texture colour but the different shades of trees make a difference.

The Rolling Cache is not full, it is totally bugged. It doesn't matter how the size of the cache is, if it runs out of space, the stutters begin. Best option is to turn it off completely. Sadly, that feature is truly a bugged feature. And Asobe doesn't care.

ah thanks, wasn't aware of that. Having it at a larger size seems to work ok for me but I guess I am spending most of my time around Duxford so it isn't filling up perhaps.
