Trying out some camping gear I haven't used in a bit, and I thought I'd show you guys what I plan to use for stealth camping in the city river valley. It's a good unit, and they should be widely available. Made some simple burgers and had a great day trip!

I have got to stop watching your videos just before I go to bed. Every time I see you cooking something, I become hungry! I need to watch your videos just before dinner. Well, I am usually busy then getting dinner, myself so I will have to watch your videos in the late evening and go to bed hungry. It is worth it to watch your videos, though. 👍

Did you get one? I've had mine for 7 years or so now and I love it! It's comfy, quick to set up, and works great. I recommend getting the snake skins for it. Also if you camp in the winter, they sell a kit to winterize with an underquilt. The snake skins don't work with the underquilt attached, unfortunately.

I am not a camper but after seeing Steve’s hammock I wanted to see one. I was with my sister at a big store that carries them and I wanted to go see them. My sister looked at me like I had lost my mind and said “why do you need one and why to you actually know what it is called?” I looked at her like she was crazy and said “It’s what Steve uses.” I think she thinks I need meds or therapy now”😂😂

I just recently found Steve's videos and have been watching them as fast as I can. Steve talks about not being able to tie knots, which reminds me of my brother. It seems that Steve and my brother tie the same type of knots, "ought knots", you ought not trust them to hold anything or anyone. Steve's knots do seem to work though. Love your videos Steve.

In later videos you talk about maybe getting/having a dog. Maybe on the trip with BW where you were dog sitting. The right dog could be an asset on travels. An old pal of mine would camp in his van on bike racing trips. "How do you feel safe?" "I have a dog and a gun. The dog alerts me, and the gun shoots them." Swap the gun for bear spray and you might have a system (assuming you can avoid gassing the dog.) So for the company, the alarm, and maybe even hunting help, a dog might of use to some travelers. My little 20lb pooch has been great company. Harmless to bring to my auto repair shop every day, but loud enough to alert me when someone comes in. Thanks for the great videos. Jeff

Hey Steve this video reminded me of a bad joke my father used to say all the time. Some experts recommend hikers wear little bells on them to warn bears so the bears can run away and avoid you. Works well on black bears. Incidentally, if you want to make out the difference between black bear shit and grisly bear shit, the grisely bear shit has little bells in it. As always, love the videos. Cheers!

Need more hammock videos! I've been camping a bit lately with the hammock and the thing that gets me is that all the official campsites are cleared of trees so that I have to go stealth anyway because they only like you pitching a tent where they want you to pitch one and don't even think about hammocks.

It's not a storage pocket, check the manual it's a beer storage and you have a 3 feet hose so you don't have to get out of your hammock. ;) Seriously I have 3 hammocks and just love them but now that I saw yours I will have to get one, looks awesome and functional, rain tarp, chair, mosquito netting and hammock and beer storage, all in a small package, that's more room for the beers. ;)

Cool little hammock. Will you get wet if it's really stormy? I've thought about getting one of those, but where I go backpacking there are frequent, massive thunderstorms that will keep you hunkered down for 2 or 3 days. Only really good quality tents will keep you dry in these mountains. And it ain't no fun hunkering down in a leaking tent
@OrangeCrusader
@OrangeCrusader 6 жыл бұрын
You'd probably want a larger tarp with doors on both ends (Warbonnet Superfly, for example) to prevent any from blowing in from the side, but in any case you can pitch the corners of the tarp lower down, and with the overhang of the tarp on either end of the hammock, and you stay drier than most tents, ['d say.
