Henri Cartier-Bresson was one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century. Watch this intimate talk featuring Peter Fetterman as he speaks about the impact of the "The Eye of the Century".
After meeting in Paris in 1990, Peter Fetterman developed a close dealer-artist friendship with Cartier-Bresson. Inspired by a firm belief in the importance of his work, Peter amassed the largest private collection of the photographer's signed prints in the world. The collection includes prints from negatives ranging seven decades from 1929 - 1999.

Fetterman's frankness, humility and grace is wonderful. We sometimes forget that there are marvelous people in this world pursuing their passions without trumpeting their egos.

Not even close! Of Leica users, Alfred Eisenstadt was by FAR the finest photographer to pioneer the use of the 35mm format for press, candid, and "street" photography. Cartier-Bresson had lamp posts growing out of people's heads and people with multiple heads in his images. Eisenstadt's images looked as though he had posed them with professional models, when they were ordinary people doing what they normally do and his images were ALWAYS tack sharp to make a double truck spread in Life magazine. C-B's images rarely could make a sharp 5"x7" print. I've had the privilege of meeting and dining with both men. Mr. Eisenstadt impressed me as a far better image master.
