Heartfelt story. My Dad who is almost 94, drive a tank in Germany and helped clean up Dauchu. He’s only told us a few stories as they are too hard for him to repeat. He was 17 at the time.

@@sabrinamurphy4009 he’s only told me a few. It’s to hard for him to tell us. We went to. WWII museum and he couldn’t go inside the concentration exhibit. The one story that he recently touched on was in a house next to the camp they found every lampshade was made from ppls skin that had tattoos on it. The rest of the stories were what you see on documentaries. But he doesn’t tell us much. Remember he was 17 and it hit him very hard. My Mom said he still has nightmares occasionally.

@@madie72451 these stories are so important to keep alive. My mum told us the story of relatives in a camp with a guard who had a hip pouch made of the breast of a Jewish woman and inside he kept teeth.

I don't believe the German people weren't complicit in the murder of 6 million people. Maybe at 17 he didn't know the whole story but you'll never convince me the general population didn't know.

Henry Winkler was named after his Uncle Helmut, who died in one of the concentration camps. His Uncle stayed behind and was expected to leave a week later because he wanted to wait for a suit jacket but soon was arrested by the nazis and unfortunately died in one of the camps

Could listen to him talk and tell his stories of his life and never get bored. 💙 He just a knack of story telling. If he was a teacher, could you just imagine??? 💙 Grew up watching "Happy Days" with my mom when I got a bit older. Always thought "The Fonz" was the coolest of the cool. lol, sometimes when my friends and I would listen to our boom boxes(radios), would hit our boom boxes(radios) to see if we could turn it off & on as "The Fonz" did. It never worked. All we got is busted radios. 🤦😂
