I am so proud of my grandfather (Paka) Ulilka Bosma who helped Jews in occupied Friesland Holland during WW2. My grandmother turned 100 this month. She is very health and much loved. Your Alberta friend, Tommy.

Next time, You need to explain the islamasation of the Seljuk turk and the battle of manzikert wich lead Alexios Komnenos to call on the "west" Thene a clear explanation between the peoples crusade (peter the hermit) and the princes crusade (raymond of toulouse, Bohemond of toronto etc..) two diffrent events/armys/crusades i would argue. One is sactioned by the holychurch the other not. Question: Are you planing to put a video explaining the distrust betwen Tsarist Russia and the jews after the napolenic wars? Second Question: Are you planing to but up a videos about the jews role in the napolenic wars? Third Question: The history of jews in Venice? Otherwise good lecture i enjoyed it!

Henry Abramson For years I have believed the Jewish name Shapiro derived from Habiru, meaning Hebrew. But now you're telling me it derives from Speyer? Could both be true? Sorry for the hard question.... ;-)

Lumpenproletariat in 1096? Let that pass. As you make clear the majority of Christians in that era were overwhelmingly rural, peasant folk of the type who could be inspired by a spirit-filled goose. At one point you speculate as to why Ashkenazim moved north and east from central Germany after the First Crusade. Surely many factors might be cited, among them, ironically, the Northern Crusades, which created social conditions (urbanization/Stadtrecht/tolerance -mild oppression) that allowed Jews to thrive. Another interesting lecture!

As a Hungarian, I don't get the joke about the furniture covered in plastic. Just as King Coloman the Bookish did not get the jokes of the first waves of crusaders, probably.

Henry Abramson Mr Abramson, are you sure you meant northern Germany when you're talking about the pogroms in Speyer, Worms and Mainz? These cities are near France, so in the south-west.

Complete tosh. These urban legends along with the one that would have Jews censor Isaiah 53 are complete and utter hogwash. SMH.

Jesus would have a sword in his mouth in Rev 1:6 it relates to his power to judge and punish. That image does appear in Tanach e.g. psalms 59:7
