For a travel [oriented] camera, I upgraded from an Olympus EPL5 to an OM-5, but it was so much better in quality than I anticipated, both for video and stills. So much so that I bought an OM-1 ii, for wildlife photography. I was consciously worried that the OM-5 might not get used as much with also having the OM-1, but it hasn't been the case. The OM-5 is so light and high-quality, with comparative high functionality, that it is just a joy to use. I also enjoy film photography and the OM-5 is always taken along, and because of its lightweight, it never feels like an additional burden. Great cameras and great system.

I got that feeling of playfullness when I switched to Olympus! (First to an EM5 mkI, later to an mk II, and now I use the EM 1 mkII) 😃

Om-5. My favorite camera, and I've got a shelf full of cameras. I take mine everywhere, it's never been inside a bag, and it works perfectly in every sort of weather that Chicago can throw at it. I completely trust the weather-sealing on the body and the lenses, the JPEGS are brilliant, I don't even bother with RAW on this camera. Your scenery is lovely there; we have nothing like that here. Before I purchased my OM5 MKIII to use as part of my travel camera setup, I have a Olympus OMD EM1 MKII and MKIII, they are just a tad larger than the OM5 but the biggest difference is the grip of the OMD Om1MKII AND MKIII, the grip allows you to use one of my favorite Olympus telephoto lens, the 40-150 f2.8 a great lens when you need a bit more reach, but the grip just makes the camera so much easier to use and hold as the OM5 reminds me of some of the Fujifilm XT3 camera, on the XT3. & XT5 I purchased a Smallrig bottom plate and grip just to make it a little easier to use and hold with some of the bigger glass.

I’m keeping to the EM10 Mkii because of the tilt screen and because it does everything I want in a small and friendly package .

Hello Henry: your enthusiasm is a treat. You should use your lens shade; it will improve the contrast of any lens you may have.

I bought a second hand Olympus E-M1 MkI back in 2020 and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made. I got it dirt cheap (£225 with veritcal grip) but it's built like a tank, weather sealed, solid in the hand, lots of customisable buttons, really good stabilisation. It's tough enough to take anywhere and cheap enough to risk taking anywhere. It's also got a bunch of advanced functions that I'm still discovering/exploring three and a half years later. It really is the pleasure of the cheap thing that did way more way better than I expected.

I have the original Olympus EM-5. It doesn't have all the digital features of recent versions, and that's part of what I like about it. It just does what it says on the tin. And the image stabilisation is amazing. Fun is the perfect word that describes my experience with it.

Watching photographers on KZfaq is like watching over exited little children running around a big shopping mall with their parents just before Christmas time.

Why I loved my OMD EM5, and now love my EM5 III. Size and weight, weather sealed, Pro lenses are excellent, and class leading image stabilisation. I can take 5 sec long exposures hand held. Love it.

I am exactly like you, I own the Om-1 but every time I go out I take my E-M10 IV & Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7 (That is glued to my camera) unbelievable combination with outstanding results for landscaping and travel, extremely light weight, extremely sharp images

I started using Olympus with the first OM5 ,in 2012 ,fell in love with it.Then EM1-Mk 2 ,and now the OM1 , cannot imagine moving to another brand.

I'm shooting olympus since 5 years and I just love it. I've got the silver version of om5. With its vintage look and feel it just feels right and is real fun to use. Got me just an used pen epl7 from mpb for travel with the oly 17mm 1.8 and cannot imagine switching away from MFT regardless of allegedly worse noise ratio and less toneh compared with full frame

I have the OM-D E-M5 Mark II. I'm definitely agreeing with you on the points, as mine has almost all of them too (no ND and no 4K video). It's such a fun camera to shoot with. Especially when paired with the various pancakes available for the M43 system. Stick on the Panasonic 14/2.5 and it's very much pocketable. Or in the case of lack of pockets (stupid trend for women's clothing!) handbag-able. The long exposure modes are a brilliant addition to the camera. And now in hindsight, I'm really happy I picked this one. The value this holds is crazy good. It's a camera from 2015,. The OM-5 was introduced in 2022. I don't see any compelling reasons to upgrade, even now. It's crazy how good this camera still is in 2024.

Understand you’re feeling about m4/3. Switched to OM-1 about two years ago. Having more fun with photography now than I ever did shooting Canon. Also shoot an Olympus EP-5 as small walk around. Great system

I am enjoying my OM-5. I love the color accuracy. From the Utah Sandstone to the the Albuquerque Balloon fest the colors remained true.

I have an EM1 mark 3, EM5 mark3 , an EM5 converted to infrared and now, from a charity shop, a Panasonic GX8 with 12-32mm lens. I love the system and have 10 lenses as well. I love going out with any combination of camera and lens. As a person with mobility issues I enjoy travelling light with one camera and one lens. The 12-100mm Olympus being my favourite. The system is fun and portable and it is a joy to use.

I agree with everything you say about the om system om5, had mine for about 6mths now and one thing you didn't mention was how good the digital teleconverter is, much better than simply enlarging a cropped portion of the photo, don't know how they do that, but for me the best feature is the IS.A brilliant camera that's fun to use.

I'm going to say great choices for the camera AND the glass-- I just returned home from a US Grand Canyon and So. Utah trip using the 7-14 and the Lumix 12-35 2.8 and the 35-100 2.8 combo. I do use the OMD EM1mkIII camera--which has a comparable feature set. You are young and "on your first legs" as they say,,for us older guys who have lost a step--or 3-- the lighter weight and size keeps us in the field shooting way past our normal use by date. The stabilization and the exposure flexibility make this an amazing camera for the size-- Thanks for giving MFT a nod!!

I only have a used Sony a6000 that I got with a 50mm 1.4 for under 500 usd. I love how much i spent, or rather how much i didn't! also picked up a kit lens for some wider shots. It's been a joy to use for exploring nature, taking macros (extension tubes!) and also traveling.

Love my OM-5. I pair it with weather-sealed M.zuiko lenses. The 12-45 mm f/4 and the 20 mm f/1.4 are two of my favorites. The 40-150 mm f/4 is great for capturing macro-like close-focusing with a lightweight mid-range zoom. I can shoot hand-held for almost 2 seconds with the OM-5, and I've used pro-capture to catch raindrops falling from flower petals in the rain. Just a fun camera all-around.

I switched from full frame Canon DSLRs to an Olympus OMD EM1 Mark iii. Love it. Then picked up an EM5 Mark ii, (ancestor of OM5) and it is an unbelievably fun travel camera. Chuck it in my pocket with 20mm 1.7 Lumix lens on dog walks etc. I love the Micro four thirds systems. Will get an OM5 in time also.

I've had the OM-1 for a year now and it is the one camera with a certain charm of being fun to use. I recently added Nikon cameras to the mix and love using them as well but yeah, there is something about the OM-1 being fun to use.

While I'm saving up for a Nikon mirrorless (Preferrably a Z7ii but a Zfc would also be nice), I'm shooting with a Nikon d5200 that I've owned since new (2013) with a Tamron 18-400, Tokina 11-16, Nikkor 35mm 1.8, and I have access to the Nikon kit lenses (18-55, 55-300) as well as a Nikkor 50mm 1.4. My gear might be old, but I do know how to make the old girl sing!

The OM-5 is my first camera and I really love going out with it. Lots of fun and it has more than enough features for me.

I have the OM-1 and the OM-5. I usually am carrying my om5 with me. It is just a fun and tiny lightweight little camera that’s built really well. It’s great. I can’t recommend it enough.

Henry, awesome shots and video. I love my OM-5 and bought it because of how you raved about it in earlier videos and I totally agree with you. Like you I am a main Nikon camera user but the simpleness of the OM 5 makes it incredibly hard to leave behind.

At the moment the cameras I mainly use are the Olympus OM-D E-M1 III and the OM Digital Solutions OM-1. I use these cameras for concert shoots, landscapes, models, the lot. I have lent my OM-D E-M1 II to my grandson. My Nikons have been collecting dust for a while now. When I really want to travel light and still use a camera instead of a phone, I use a Panasonic Lumix LX100 II.

I absolutely love my E-m1 iii, I use the 8mm fisheye pro, the 12-40pro, and the 40-150pro (all M.Zuiko lenses) I've yet to come across a situation this setup can't make the most of. gret to see you have it back Henry!!!

I took the OM-5 and the 12-45mm F4 PRO lens all around Japan. It was so nice not to have to worry about big heavy cameras, and know I would still get quality images, as well as not worrying about the weather. Walked around 10 miles a day with that thing, and hardly noticed.

I have an OM-1 but still have an E-M5 ii as my backup and quite often carry both cameras. I'll have the 12-40 on the 5 and 40-150 on the OM-1. Love shooting with both

I have Nikon DSLRs (D500 and D850) which produce fantastic results. However, I got into MFT last year and bought a ton of lenses and bodies (all used). I love my OM-1, E-M1ii, Pen-F, and E-M5ii. I love shooting with all these cameras because they are capable, small, and well engineered. There is something about the system that appeals to me beyond the Nikon gear (which is very good).

New to your channel and I was wondering about that little camera (without a Tripod for long exposures) so I am glad I found this video. I shoot with a Canon 90D which is a Crop Sensor but packed with features so it is kind of a Pro camera. It even has an articulating LCD which I find many Full-Frames in its price range don't have. Anyway, enough about me. I am liking your energy and enthusiasm! Thanks for sharing on your channel!

I think you feel less pressured when your using a second/third/etc camera.. I love my Sony A7III but enjoy using my old Fuji x20 more. I have had the OM-5 in my basket for a few days now... thank you for confirming my imminent button press lol. Love the videos and photos :-)

Another great Video with you two guys. My main interest is Macro and Birds, they are the reason I changed from a Nikon D 500 with a Tamron 150-600 G2 lens to the Olympus system. The Ibis and the fantastic focusing of the Em1 Mk iii and the OM-1 are next level. And as you reported the computational features are astounding as is the quality with light weight. For my birding I would dearly love the 150-400 it is next level in the lens line up. Nothing wrong with my 300mm F4 or my 40-150 F2.8 both pro lenses ! For landscape I use the 12-40 Pro and the fantastic 8-25 F4 Pro and of course the 60mm F 2.8 Macro. Cheers from New Zealand

I switched to Olympus about 4 years ago from Canon. It was getting far too heavy and I wasn’t enjoying going out with my camera. I now have two OM -1’s. They are a joy to photograph with and so much lighter to travel about. I now enjoy my photography again. I take it you find neck straps cumbersome and restrictive as I never see you with one. Also, lens hoods. Do you ever use them or are you compensating using your f stops, shutter speed etc? I asked you a few weeks ago about your woolly sheep hat. I managed to get one when we went to the lakes. Love it! Great video as always.

A couple of years ago I moved on from heavy and cumbersome DSLR gear and bought into MFT with the E-M10iv. The handling of a camera with 1.8 prime @500g is liberating. With the other two 1.8s it's 750g in a small shoulder bag. I miss the dynamic range of FF every so often, but this little set-up has re-invigorated my joy in photography.

Henry, you asked what cameras we shoot with and do we get joy using them. My answer is going to be a little long. I recently bought a D750 which I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to like it or not. I like the thought of getting to know the camera, but I still haven't taken it out for a proper spin. Having said that, my all time favorite camera is my Nikon D5100. The D5100 was my first proper DSLR. I have a Canon DSLR, but it's more of a glorified point and shoot camera. First off, I love the articulating screen on my D5100 so much. I've heard youtubers say that unless you're shooting selfies or video you don't really need a flip screen. I respectfully disagree. I use the flip screen for things other than mugging for the camera. I like that I can hold my camera low to the ground without squatting. I suffer from arthritis in my lower back and knees. I also love the fact that even though it only uses 16.2 megapixels, the D5100 works well in low light. I'm an avid astrophotographer as well as a landscape photographer. I enjoy the weight of the camera. I suffer from arthritis in my hands as well, so having a lighter weight camera is a must. I love the picture quality, and the vibrant colors that the D5100 produces. It's considered an entry level camera, yet it takes great quality pictures. So yes, my D5100 does give me pleasure. I absolutely love using it. As I learn to use the D750, I hope I get that same sense of joy that the D5100 gives me. I would go on, but I think you get the idea.

I have the original OM-D EM10 and had so much fun with it on a recent OS trip. M4/3 systems provide such a compact travel option. I can only imagine how much more one gets out of any of the successors.

Regarding your question, I have an OM-1 and it is just easy and fun to use: my feeling is that the settings and menu system have been refined and created to put everything photographers need at their fingertips _when_ they need them. I cannot define it any more than that. I can attest that once I start using it, I seek out more subjects and compositions than I originally intended, just for the pleasure of using it. I know Ian uses Fujifilm and I had one prior to my OM-1, but I never warned to it. The simple manual-focus clutch on many of their lenses is superb, and the focusing is fast and accurate. The Pro lenses (I guess Leica in Panasonic-speak) are beautifully made and sharp. All the things you mentioned are true, and though I am but an amateur, I appreciate the quality of the entire system.

I am the same as you Nikon and Olympus! Albeit older versions... D7100 and OMD-10. The Olympus gets the most use because of its portability.

Another reason I love using my Olympus camera is because it has great white balance and colors right out of camera. The biggest reason for me I choose it over Fuji or my Nikon is because I can pack multiple lenses and go hiking or bicycle riding.

Yes, I get that sense when I'm using the EM-5 mkIII, which is very close to the OM-5, very similar cameras. I use it a lot with the 12-45mm f4, which is tiny, but so sharp. My favourite feature on the whole camera, is the HDR modes. Because unlike other cameras, it spits out a RAW file, that is it composites the 3 shots into a single wide dynamic range, RAW file. When you process that, you get all the advantages of the highlight and shadow recovery when shooting RAW, but with a RAW file that is already HDR. It's almost impossible to blow the highlights or shadows, no matter how much the crazy dynamic range of the view. So you can shoot into the sun, sunsets, interiors where you've got a window outside view, and you're always going to get a usable image, that you can just adjust like a RAW file. Plus the IBIS is amazing. So all those crazy sunsets, or that crazy lighting, that takes you by surprise, and if you're trying to set up another camera on a tripod, where you miss that light. You don't miss it. I just have to whip out the camera, put it in one of the HDR modes, have it at f4-5.6, point, zoom to frame, and bingo, I've got a file that I can produce a great image out of. It is just crazy how much you can bring the shadows up and recover the highlights. Tripod, I don't bother. I get usable images up to 1 second, handheld. The only limitation is if the near vegetation is blowing around in the breeze, and you can get artefacts, from the blurred leaves or whatever.

I knew nothing about photography when my local dealer suggested the EM-1 and a few PRO lenses. It took a while to learn what I was doing but I felt a million dollars with that Mk1 around my neck. Some years later I wanted a second body and the EM-1 Mk2 just fitted my hands perfectly, no need to learn anything new, it was love at first sight. So now, after a few more years, I still absolutely love my Olympus gear. I'm normally found at car shows, steam rallies or motorsport events. The Mk1 has the 12-40mm F2.8 and the Mk2 has the 40-150mm and it's perfect for me.

I was shooting with my beloved GX9, but after I bought a used EM-10 I just can't help but take the oly out with me wherever I go, something about this camera makes it more fun to shoot with. Sadly it all changed when I bought a point and shoot Canon G15 which is a beast of a camera!

I love that you're still using this camera. I've got the predecessor the EM5 Mk3 and absolutely love it. I've got the OM-1 for wildlife, but for everything else I still love using the EM5.

The MFT lens library is fantastic. Smaller, less expensive, and greater reach. I've bought almost all of mine used. Great prices and selection at MPB. I like how you can see photos of each item.

Shooting with a D3000. That I bought in 2010. Decided to buy a new one. Played with a friends Om10 and was night and day difference. Then google did its listening thing. And I got an ad for the Om5, paid £1000 with lens. Can't wait for it to arrive!

I have both the EM1iii, and EM5iii. I love the first, shelved the second, and now have gone back to it. Why? It’s light and it does the job. I have the Olympus 12-200mm, and the 14-150mm f2.8 and f4, but when you have a bad back, they are still heavy. Went and bought the Lumix 14-140mm and it’s almost half the size of the 14-150mm f4, and the weight is considerably less. That has now become my go to lens on either of my Oly cameras. I’m now awaiting the Lumix 9mm prime. I still have my Nikon D7500 and a Sony, both much heavier and sit on the shelf. The Oly cameras are fun to take out as they don’t take up too much space and of course, less weight and as you get older, that is everything!

Thanks for sharing you’re insight and enthusiasm! The original Olympus OM-D E-M5 brought me more creative fun than any other camera I’d ever used and solidified my commitment to Olympus/OM System. They feel great to hold and perform faithfully and wonderfully. I depend especially on the IBIS.

M43 cameras make photography a LOT more fun; it's the size and weight that makes it so damn convenient. You get 95% of the photographic capabilities in a body and lens that's 30% of the size of the other cameras.

Great video and beautiful location. Ive gone from the nikon d7200 to the d850, and a year ago I sold them for an om1 and i absolutely love it.

I don't do camera brands or mirrorless, but I have always stuck to a certain brand and really its no better than the rest on the market in fact my camera is quite old now, I do have a back up but I only ever travel with one camera, my camera works ok and never lets me down it's light and suits me fine! my back up camera is heavy and is a legend in it's own right that's probably why I keep it! At my age its just nice to go out and take pictures of things that catches my eye, they are by no means prize winners but who cares! thanks for your input on this matter, your channel is always a good watch, and I just wish I could get to some of those places that you visit but those days are gone now I am just a local shooter now. Damn you Henry! Up until I saw this I was a happy fuji shooter and perhaps just a little "M43-curious". Well, I've just booked my fuji kit in with MPB (collecting it on Tuesday) and put an order in for this very kit (I found the OM 5 on steaming deal; £500 off new). I am honestly very excited for the possibilities of the super-natural IBIS, live NDs, handheld hi-res, in camera focus stacking. The list goes on! Thanks for push dude!

Like your honest and enthousiastic videos. To answer your questions: I love the portability of my EM5 mkiii paired with a small prime (14mm f2.5 panasonic, 20mm f1.7 panasonic and 45mm f1.8mm olympus) especially for indoor family pictures. Recently I bought the 12-45mm f4 zoom: well built, very sharp and weathersealed. Perfect for nature and city pics. When I walk the dog i like to shoot the occasional bird photo. The small 75-300 olympus f4.8-6.7 fits that style perfectly (only on sunny days because of the small aperture). The only disadvantage was the ergonomics of that combo: too front heavy. Luckily i happened to find an old Olympus EM1 mk1 for only 200 euros which is a perfect match for that lens; much better grip and balance. Btw, I have som older canon DSLRs with big L-glass collecting dust. Thanks for your tip on using MPB to sell camera gear.

I do enjoy a day out with my Cannon 200d, it's light weight and the extra zoom I get when using full frame lens is a plus point.

Great video Henry. Your enthusiasm is contagious! To answer your final question, I’ve been shooting 4/3 since the E510 (replaced by the E3 and then the E5). Switched to m4/3 since the EP1 came out and never looked back. Tried them all m4/3 bodies since then and now concentrate on the OM-1 and the Pen-f. Recently rediscovered the joy of shooting film so in my outings I combine one digital body with one of my two film cameras (OM4Ti and Pen FV).

My "fun" camera is a Niikon D700, and I really recommend it as a second camera. I feel like a photographer rather than a computer operator where I have to make the decisions, choose the ISO, focus points etc. Yes, it's "only" 12MP, but the results are really good, and I highly recommend it.

My "fun" is my FujiFilm X100V for many of the same reasons you quote for the OM. The fixed focal length is a different challenge, the film simulations fun - just totally different from the Z7II workhorse...

Former Nikon d600 owner, now em-5 mk2 owner. I just wasn't using the d600 because of the bulk, didn't realise I'd been well and truly sucked into thinking I wanted/needed full frame and the bulk and weight of an SLR..super happy with the form factor and IQ (it looks pretty nice too)

Having worked with Nikons for years, I switched to Fuji (X-H2), and I too experience the feeling that it's fun to use. Like you said, it's hard to put a finger on "why".

I had various Nikon’s over the years (final one was Z6ii) and they just left me flat. Imagine quality was fine, but just never looked forward to using it. Switched to a Fuji X-T5 and the fun is back. Love the various film sims and shooting JPEGs even.

Several years ago I bought a EM5 mkII with a 12-40 f2.8 pro, primarily for landscape photography. I moved away from it because of the complications of the menus and user haptics. I don’t shoot that often - I don’t drive so rely on my wife to get me to nice places and she’s busy working! As such, I could never remember which dial I’d set up to do what, what each profile did etc. it’s still in the cupboard somewhere but I moved to a Leica Q2 where the aperture and shutter speed dials are on the camera. I miss the IBIS but I enjoy using much more.

The OM 5 seems a great little camera and one that should appeal to me with the ND filters and stabilisation but weirdly I think it would speed me up too much at a cost of not concentrating enough on the composition.Although I've never handled it, I feel it might be too small for me. I love the size, weight and feel of my Z7 and take it with me everywhere.

I've had a few Olympus cameras over the years including currently an E-M5 III which shares the same body as the OM-5, and an E-M1 III which has the guts that later trickled down to the OM-5. I'm getting ready to sell my E-M5 III. It has a perfectly good feature set but I can't stand the grip. Most of my lenses are on the heavier side for m43, but I find the E-M5 III grip too sharp and small to properly grip with heavier lenses. I've tried a couple add-on grips but they just don't do it for my hands. I'm still very happy with this feature set in the E-M1 III body. Currently working on getting up the nerve to replace my E-M5 III with a Lumix G9 II. With lighter lenses the E-M5 handles fine enough. I like using it with my PanaLeica 25/1.4 II, Panasonic 35-100/2.8, and Olympus 75/1.8. But I'm also getting rid of the 25/1.4 and I have far more lenses that are a bit too heavy to be comfortable on the E-M5 III. YMMV depending on lens choice and have size. Mine are kinda big and I prefer a good chunky grip.

I have Olympus and Fuji camera systems … but I usually default to Olympus when I’m unsure of what I’ll find when out taking photos …I suspect the Fujis system will end up getting sold in the future…❤

I've always shot with Nikon and currently use a Nikon Z5 with a 24-200 mm lens. Which is a great piece of kit. I just picked up a Z mount 105 mm macro lens, which again is a great piece of kit. However it has added weight to my camera bag. After watching your videos about the OM-5 and your comments about it. I've been thinking of looking into picking one up. I try and keep my camera gear simple and not fall into the trap of, "got to get the newest, biggest, best, etc, etc, etc. Also with arthritis in my knees and right shoulder, it does become a pain to sling the bag on my back and go walking. I moved from D7200 to a Z30, it is light, tiltable screen is a strong plus, i really enjoy it with the compact 24mm dx f1.7

Recently picked up a Nikon Zf and sold my Olympus kit, including the OM5. The reverse is true for me - I just revel in the handling (with grip) and controls of the Zf, the sound and feel of the shutter, whereas the Olympus, whilst an excellent camera, was just so much more clinical.

I love my d7500 and the sigma18-300 i have had many happy days out with this set up.

To answer your question: picking up my Nikon 7100 just feels good, every time again. I love that camera, and to me, all the buttons are in the right place as well. So I really enjoy using it, though I have to be honest and admit that it has been a long time that I took pictures. October.. But I might want to take pictures of the tulips soon!

Used my OM1 to photograph a classical music recording session on Saturday, I started off with my old Nikon D810 bodies that have served me well for many years now but when the sound engineer moaned about the shutter I decided to try out the OM1 in silent mode, just blown with the difference in the experience, especially using my 40-150 F4 lens, could get right into the centre of the orchestra easily. Will be using it many more times I am sure.

Love using my EM10 mkiv with PL 12-35mm F2.8 just feels right with great results

I shot Nikon DSLR's for 15+ years and it definitely stopped being as 'fun' at some point.... but I switched to a Fuji X-S10 just over a year ago and it rekindled my love for photography, and made it fun again and just makes me want to get out and shoot. Maybe that's just the novelty of a new system and new lenses (or adapted ones!), or the features like film sims, but it quite literally made every aspect of photography better for me. Anyways I love your videos, and cool to see you and Ian out together again, but now I'm off to watch his video haha

Offloaded Oly and Nikon Kira while back to move to Fuji. I’m of an age where the dial controls feel very natural to use and the quality of cameras, lenses, etc is good. That said, I recently bought back a 2nd hand EM5 and a couple of MFT lenses. A couple of 25km treks in Argentinian Patagonia with an X-T4 with the 18-135 in my pack made me look back with nostalgia to Oly days. On the lookout for a used 12-45 PRO to round off the MFT set.

I have many Olympus cameras. I also have Pentax. I have bonded with my EM10 Mark IV. It has become an extension of myself. I cannot explain it but there is a unique kind of intangeable zen shooting with this camera.

My regular camera is a Canon R5. It’s brilliant. I had an OM1 as a second camera for 6 months - I hated it. Not for me - I’m a landscape photographer. Now my second camera is a Fujifilm gfx 100s. It’s a real effort to make images with but the image quality is sublime.

I've become partial to Nikon, just "upgraded" to the the D3200. I just got the Tamron 18-270mm lens. Both camera and lens are great for what I do shoot with them. I'm happy with them and looking forward to getting out with them for the first time this week up in Yellowstone National Park here in the U.S. Thanks for your video. OM5 is a rocketship, as you say a real pleasure to use and the most fully featured camera relative to its form factor. The weather proofing gives confidence, its tough enough and with a pair of F4 Pro Zooms, you cover all the focal lengths with a packed weight under 1.1kg!

I use a pentax k70 , it's my first dslr , I did a lot of research and reading of reviews when I upgraded from a Panasonic bridge camera , I love the pentax k70 , its a pleasure to use , great articulating screen , great weatherproofing at a lower price bracket than many competitors - which was important to me when on a tight budget .... it has a lovely colour rendition. I could go on about it all day long . 👍

Size definitely matters. I switched to an OM-5 after getting tired of hiking with the excellent but big Fuji zooms + the X-T4. The OM 12-45mm f/4 is my main lens; it's superb and only 254g (tho the Panasonic Leica 12-60mm you have is really tempting, heh). I have the PL 9mm as my wide and probably going to grab the equally tiny Panasonic 35-100 as a pocket telephoto. The kit is so small that it's never a bother so I take it everywhere with me. Which means I'm taking more photos than ever.

I'm a Nikon shooter mainly and have the Z7II and the ZF. I've had the Z5, as well as a Fuji X-E3, and Sony A6300 recently as well, with other DSLRs prior too. I find the X-E3 and the ZF to be the most fun to shoot because of the manual input they can require. I LOVE the A6300 and miss it, and loved the Z5, but the Z7II and ZF are both amazing. The ZF is with me every day, the Z7II is with me when I know that I'm shooting. I don't get the same complete enjoyment out of the Z7II until I get home and pixel peep, but the ZF is just flat out enjoyable. I would say the Z7II is a workhorse which makes me happy with the results and the ZF is just always fun to shoot. I guess I could say I just love shooting, and producing imagery, regardless of camera. The whole process can be enjoyable :D
