Tactical Ops is great. They are still playing it today!

37:00 was a feature. i think its not true for all versions but i remember as a kid that the hostages that would pick up guns later in the round could be noticed early by them having a smile in their face or their pleas for help sounding fake. i tried the game again after watching this video and yes the movement and shooting are sluggish as hell, and cs gameplay ended up being more timeless but maybe that's because so many games copied it. i think the spray mechanic in cs is alright, you can think of it as controlling the kick of the gun instead of the bullet spray. on another note, i used to play a lot of gmod and some ports or recreations of TO maps would show up in the servers i played, especially the island map.

really good video and review. also loved your mod music excursion. if i had to improve this i would make the valve part shorter and condense/cut some other parts where you kind of repeated yourself. imo it would be a better video AND save you work.

Another + for Tactical Ops: You had the option to make custom maps, and if you're lucky, they would be added on servers and played with +30 people... I still remember the 1st time I played my map with 30 people! - That being said: Very good vid! I watched it completely and really enjoyed it! But what caused you not to be able to shoot, as mentioned in the beginning?

TO:AoT has sequels though. TO:Crossfire and TO4:Tactical Operations. I remember there being some bs with the IP and the name being copywritten, so they had to use different names. TO:AoT's original name is SWAT, when it still was a mod.

Tactical ops does have wallbang ballistics, you just neet to enable it, also you can bounce bullets with that option enabled. I remember it did increase lag at the time, but I used to enable it anyways on my server

If you're going to do a video on games that run well on 4:3 in future, there's no shame or problem in just uploading the entire video in a 4:3 resolution such as 1280x960 or 1440x1080. KZfaq somehow handles (Or at least used to) esoteric screen resolutions, I tested once by uploading a 1920x810 (21:9) video. =P Also, Tactical Ops (At least the mod version) DID in fact have a sequel for UT2004. Tactical Assault: Crossfire. It's a about what you'd expect.

30:16 that's kinda strange (cs bots > to bots) bc UT99 bots were absolutely Godlike in terms of 'smartness' and configurability. How TO even managed to lose all that potential ?
