I lost all of my hair 30 years ago from alopecia. I just decided this year to just be natural. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do because people are so cruel. I wasn't comfortable. I'm happy she has some of her hair to get a beautiful style. God is good.❤❤😊

Chemical, hair relaxers , are a root cause of CCA scarring alopecia, i’ve been being treated for this for eight years, one thing my doctor asked my dermatologist before she started. My treatment was for me to commit to not ever putting chemical, relaxers back on my scalp . Crystal, the client is not is not informed, but you aught to beCrystal!

Yes, I think she is an awesome stylist but putting a relaxer in her hair while she has alopecia that bad was not wise. We black women have to start putting our health and the health of our hair over a hairstyle. I got alopecia from relaxers as well and have been suffering with it for over 15 years. Regret I ever used a relaxer!

@@oliviavoltaire4731 Absolutely agree as a licensed stylist I drank the koolaid of chemical relaxers for years until God opened my eyes to the harmful poisonous affects of those chemicals.. Due to Covid I lost 65 % of my hair, but after praying and seeking natural remedies for hair lost, I begin using Ayurveda herbs. Fenugreek , Amla, and essential oils like Tea tree and Rosemary. .Also scalp massaging 3 to 4 tmes a week causes blood flow in the scalp.. My hair is almost back and thick as ever,, Praise God!!!!! We don't have to accept every report we receive from drs. There is hope and God has the final say...!!!!!

The client's medical issue and/or response to hair chemicals may not be the same as your own. To say what the stylist should and should not know is derogatory and I wish we could do away with keyboard courage & bullying in any form. For instance, if I corrected someone for improper use of the words "ought" and "aught".

If there's no successful treatments for alopecia to date, then you've provided a great service. Although you accommodate your client's desires, as a professional, you can likely influence their desires that may not be the best choice. Natural kinky hair extensions that blend in with your client's hair texture seem to be a safer/healthier option rather than hair straightener's chemicals.

It's best to get to the root cause. There are so many options for women these days such as PRP with a-cell scalp injections and laser caps. If your hair is falling out its best to strengthen the remaining hair. It's her choice to get a relaxer but people should know the risks and available options.
