Truth. I caught it in time thank God. You r speaking the truth. My doctor was beyond kind and empathetic. Put me on minoxidil and antibiotics. Worked 💯. Plush diet change to correct inflammation my diet was pretty good to begin with I also do D3 and essential vitamins. Hair has grown bck thick and lush no fall out. Beyond grateful. 🙏🏾 I am 64 and very happy with the progress.

I don’t trust doctors. After 74, I know my own body. Stress and poor diet were the culprits for my cccca. Shaved my head, took supplements (including msm, d3, b-complex, magnesium citrate) reduced sugar (1tsp per day), caffeine, no breads; no fast or fried foods, while adding fresh veggies. Most of the crown has grown back. The rest of my hair is dense and thick. No doctor needed.

I’m so thankful for you! I tried a Dermatologist and she was so basic. She was white and I feel like she didn’t understand our texture. I’m going to find another doctor, thank you! 💜
@Samiam173
@Samiam173 Жыл бұрын
Hi KW, I went to a white female doctor also. It's not the "texture" that is the issue, it's the culture of Afro American Women and hair. It's hair growth or lack thereof. Texture is not what we're trying to fix, unfortunately it's the alopecia. Anyway, they are textbook, its' braids, chemicals, relaxers. Well, I can say that but what is she saying about the biology of our hair/culture? Not much. All they can do is prescribe medication or invasive procedures to get the hair back. We need to know the real root of the problem. I hope you find someone who can help you. What does work, or did for me was the Rogaine and Viviscal and for some reason, it makes the hair curl up really tightly just like in her video which is so odd. If you stop taking Rogaine if falls out so it's not fixing the problem, it's putting a bandaid on it. We need to know why this is happening. Good luck.

Thank you for this helpful and comprehensive video! In case the following info helps anyone: vitamin D3 is called a "vitamin" because the body can't make it on its own, but vitamin D3 is actually a steroid hormone, which is crucial for the immune system to function properly. The darker your skin is, the more sun exposure you need for your body to make vitamin D3. So if you have dark skin and live in a northern climate, you'll likely require more vitamin D3 supplementation than someone with light skin. This is for the same reason as "black don't crack." Melanin blocks UV rays, and in doing so, makes less vitamin D3. The skin depends on UV rays to synthesize vitamin D3. In my opinion, this is why blacks were disproportionately impacted by the 2020 virus. Too much vitamin D3 is bad, too. So it's important to get the dose right and check blood levels regularly. I wish this were common knowledge in the black community, because unless you spend hours year round under the Saharan sun, you might be deficient in a vital steroid hormone. Also, vitamin K2 tells the D3 where to go in your body, and it's usually important to supplement with magnesium as well, because the higher your vitamin D3 levels go, the higher your calcium levels go, and magnesium and calcium should be in balance. Thank you again for the super helpful video! I'm looking into pumpkin oil right now.

I think that searching for doctors willing and knowledgeable to help you causes stress that will cause more hair fall, so I would rather not go that route and just rely on destressing, vitamins, good nutrition, yoga, and other potent types of exercise, such as rebounding on a mini trampoline for one. Jumping on a trampoline gives me a lot of energy, makes me feel good, and improves my weight and sleep. So, I don't want to worry about my hair and just take my mind off it. I try to avoid bad news, fear, complaining, anger, hurtred, and all negative things as much as I can. 🧡 After taking pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto caps, Geritol, Blood Builder vitamin, and turmeric caps for 1 month so far, and also shampooing twice a week with a folliculitis shampoo, moisturizing my scalp with Jamaican Black Castor Oil hair grease, and eating sardines every day, I'm seeing much less hair fall. Almost none and my thinning area appears to be getting thicker. Fortunately, I have some hair in the front to cover the wide alopecia line on top and hope that it will grow eventually.

It's ironic that I did the Viviscal and OTC Rogaine and that worked! No oils, no other vitamins. However, I don't "think" that if you stopped some of the vitamins that your hair would stop growing. One, you specifically mentioned that stopping the Rogaine would make it stop and guess what...you're right. The other vitamins are good in themself but I don't think it attributes as much as the Rogaine. When I stopped the Rogaine, my hair went south. And, my hair looked EXACTLY like yours, the tight curls all over. If I could send you a picture I would. I stopped the Rogaine because of the expense and it left my scalp dry and itchy. I wanted to get off medication and take a more natural approach. Now, I use oil combinations as you mentioned, and viviscal. I did a big chop and am seeing some results although it's only been 2 months. I may (reluctantly) try the rogaine again and add drops to the oils to see if that helps but don't want to use it alone. If I choose to use this medication I want it diluted but we'll see,,,I'm going to give it 6 months and see if I can avoid using it. Thanks good video and can you show an update?

I am so glad that you shared this story and emphasizing the importance of finding another doctor when others tell you there's nothing that can be done. I have had this issue for over 10 years and it has progressed over the years. Every dermatologist told me there's nothing that can be done- I've even had primary care physicians deny me a recommendation to specialist because I was told there's not use. That being said, I appreciate all of the information you are providing and the importance of diet and nutrient supplements.

I am so glad that I found your videos. So many days I feel like I am alone in this journey. Just recently chopped my hair because my hair started back acting up and it really hurt because my hair had been really thriving for more than 5 years. Definitely going to add the other vitamins that you take to my line up as well. Recently started with a different dermatologist that encourages more vitamin d3 and K2, less sugars and less carbs so I can control my inflammation. Thank you!

Over the years I've noticed quite an increase in number of women stop suffering in silence. Many were still able to cover up.

I've been crying for days over my diagnosis...to the point of hyperventilating and having a migraine headaches. I have CCCA, female pattern alopecia, and traction alopecia. I did my big chop and went natural over 12 years ago. Now the front, sides, and top are thin or gone. The regimen the dermatologist ordered is rather expensive on my fixed income. Looking for affordable natural 4c toupees is also difficult. I'd decided to cut down my beautiful shoulder length kinky coils to make the damage less obvious. Now I feel encouraged by your story. Thank you.

This video is very helpful. I have been diagnosed with alopia but not occasionally. I went to two dermatologists, and they were no help, so now I'm waiting to get approved to see another one. I know for sure regaine didn't help when I was using. I also was using castor oil with rosemary and clove, it did slow down my hair from thinning and falling oil. It has its waves where I will be good for a few months then I have a real bad scalp flair ups, itchiness sores, and sometimes lumps. My spot is directly in the middle. When I braid my own hair I don't braid that spot because, any pulling will cause more problems. I take d3 because it was low, I'm slao trying to reduce sugar intake because I'm pre-diabetic. I will look into some of the items you suggested.

What I was told that my dermatologist told me the scarring would not come back kept talking about it since it was the size of a quarter it’s on the web is hair transplants don’t work I believe it was done to black women on purpose do you know anything yet women that have this, I also believe some of the damage is caused from wearing these wigs from where I don’t know and the regain and monoxidel work until you stop using it.

I was taking it based on youtuber recommendation, my primary doctor and derm told me not take it. Its not good for women. I take spiradactolone instead. The expert I saw recommended this medication. I've been fighting this since 1994. I'm very angry that black women has go threw this and no one really looking at prevention. I don't let anyone do my hair.

@Lola bear Don't give up yet! Continue with your natural remedies and try to find a black dermatologist, preferably one who specializes in hair loss. If the first doctor cannot help you, then try to find another one. I also recommend that you should only use products in your hair that are created by black-owned companies. There're quite a few products that are marketed for black people that are no longer black-owned. God only knows what are in those products, it might sound crazy, but I don't believe that I'm imagining things. So do your research before putting anything into your hair, other than using natural remedies. I wish you the best.

Try to visit a black dermatologist. Culturally sensitive doctors really make a difference . Get a blood work up . A complete panel. Don't give up.
