Completely better sound than the two years previous, actual 1st album----"Green Manalishi" NOT withstanding! I'm bowled over that ya can't make the BLACK SABBATH sound.....Could'a been Geezer on n that fuckin bass. I mean, sure, it wasn't...but hey... I sure tripped on it back in the day. And that album cover is UNDISPUTEDLY the most awesomely killer (as well as fittingly "apropos") album cover ever!!! I mean, fuckin-man!!!!

Between Wired, There and Back, and Blow by Blow, you just can't go wrong on Beck's fusion. One of my favourite albums of all time and this song in particular is an absolute classic so it's not to take anything from it but the vibrato starting at 7:36 is very obviously a studio effect, no human voice is capable of doing that, not even Halford's, amazing as he is. Still an absolutely amazing vocal performance.

I am 57 years old, seen Priest 7 times and would say god fathers of true heavy metal all their albums are great depending on the genre. My opinion British Steel really started their heavy metal string then my favorite would be Point of Entry, followed by Screaming for Vengeance, and lastly Defenders of the Faith, all your classic heavy metal albums.

Rocka Rolla was their debut album, One for the Road, Rocka Rolla, Never Satisfied, and Dying to Meet You which imo is much like Sabbath's War Pigs. Judas Priest first 2 albums were very much blues based. The beauty of the early albums was the play off between Tipton and Downing solos because one of them was classically trained and the other blues trained.

Nice reaction! Judas Priest of this era was much more groovy and blues-based metal, while the more modern stuff is thrashier. Now I'm going to suggest that you listen to "Child in Time" by Deep Purple. Here's why...both Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden cite Ian Gillan of Deep Purple as a major influence, and I believe that "Child in Time" will really show you where both of those bands came from musically. God bless!

Their first album was Rocka Rolla which came out in '74 (and is very different sounding). Sad Wings of Destiny was their second, then Sin After Sin, then Stained Class. 70s Priest is what I grew up with, and still my favorite Priest (favorite to play on guitar too), though I love Screaming For Vengeance and other later albums too. My overall favorite version of Victim of Changes is the live version on Unleashed in the East, which also has excellent versions of Exciter, Sinner, Green Manalishi, The Ripper, Diamonds and Rust, and others. I'm really liking you guys and hope you keep this up. Having places to go and escape the craziness and just hang out and listen to good music is something truly valuable. A little constructive (I hope) criticism: the constant pausing diminishes the experience of listening to music, especially when you are listening to something for the first time. You have to just let the song (and sometimes the whole album) play through and take it all in as a whole experience. Maybe that's old school, but us old timers know a thing or two about good music. 🙂 You might be worried about getting blocked, but there are other reactors who play without pauses and don't have a lot of problems. There are apparently ways of dealing with it. I think the main thing is not showing video with it, and you should be good there. Maybe talk to James (Rome Life channel), or Andy and Alex. Wishing you both all the best.

@@NicknLex - i have a request. Please react to 'Meta Taro' by Babymetal. They're just a normal Metal band don't be fooled by the name nothing out of the ordinary. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i6-in6hkmLK6gXU.html&ab_channel=HITGIRL2 They're my favorite group. It's ok if you don't like it the fanbase is very nice. But it is much bigger than people expect so don't trash them too hard or you will get some negative feedback. Just a heads up :) I felt guilty i can only troll you so much with this request.

Not their 1st album - that was Rocka Rolla (1974) - followed by "Stained Class". They didn't become household names until British Steel in 1980 (Breaking the Law, Living After Midnight). Play this cut off Sad Wings - more riffing. Deceiver: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r6t8o7mF2L3RoH0.html
