Kelley Stage was funny, kind, endearing, and goofy… qualities that made her loved by everyone she met, including local hockey star Thomas Clayton. After meeting in a bar, the two quickly began dating, and a year later, they were married and starting a family together. They had what many perceived to be the perfect life. That is until September 29th, 2015, when Thomas came home just after midnight from a poker game to find his wife brutally bludgeoned on their kitchen floor. He called 911, and within an hour, the place was swarming with police. Though he performed well, the officers weren’t buying his story that he wasn’t involved. So much so that that same day, he was arrested for her murder. Even though his alibi checked out, too much pointed to his involvement. All investigators had to do was figure out who did the actual killing. And he wasn’t hard to find. Michael Beard, a recently fired employee of Thomas, was brought in for questioning, and after several hours and a failed polygraph, he confessed to everything. Though he later tried to recant, a jury didn’t buy it. They didn’t buy Thomas’ pleas of innocence either. Both men were convicted of 1st and 2nd-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

When I was 6, my mom fell and hurt her foot, as she was bending over in silence dealing with the pain, I looked over to my brother and said “omg did my mom die, who is going to take care of us” 😅 of course an innocent kid. But it is something you can think about as a kid, because you know who takes care of you, the authority figure.

This is something my anxiety ridden 3&6 yo have just on their own. If anything changes in their lives they get scared about what's going to happen to them. I think it's a normal anxiety for children that as adults we have so many anxieties that we forget having them as children. I hate she had to see the trauma of it all. That is awful
@evelynmagoo
@evelynmagoo 29 күн бұрын
@@roxyboxie1016 yeah i agree. that definitely sounds like something i would have worried about on my own at 7 years old. i was a very anxious and neurotic child due to an unstable household environment and family genetics. that being said, this girl probably lived in a very dysfunctional family even before her mother’s murder… not to mention at least her father most definitely has some sort of mental illness. so combine the environment and genetics, and she most likely dealt with anxiety starting at a very young age.

I wasn't well last week and I fainted in front of my daughter who is only a little bit older than this poor little girl. The look on my daughter's face when I came round was more terrifying to me than anything that was happening to me in the moment and its still branded in my mind everytime I close my eyes. She was terrified and looked so vulnerable. Bless her heart; she ran and got me water and said she'd make me some toast for my blood sugar because that's what I did for her a couple of years back when she fainted. All I cared about in that moment was making sure she was okay even though it was me who needed help. It absolutely destroys me knowing that little girl held her legs because she wanted to protect her mother 😢 and thinking that poor Kelly likely will have been fighting for her life thinking that if she gave up, her kids would be next. Its unimaginable how terrified they both must've been. I hope Charlie gets the help she needs to process such a horrendous trauma. Even as a 31 year old woman I can't imagine not having my own mother to go to when I'm scared and hurting. I just keep picturing how tightly Id hold my daughter if she'd lost someone she loved while she grieved and how I'm one of the only people (if not the only person) who could make it better. Charlie needs her mother now more than ever and she's gone 😢 All the love and light in the world to Charlie and her sibling, Kim and all of Kelly's family ❤

He tore our family apart due to being selfish and cheating. I tell my family and friends all the time that if I end up gone, he definitely had something to do with it. What some people will do rather than go through a fair divorce is astounding.

This case was in my area, literally 20 minutes from my neighborhood, and was very shocking. He was a horrible person and deserved what he got. My friend and I even did a customized bracelet sale for her kids and family at a hockey gamer where he played. That night, the team auctioned off their jerseys to benefit the kids. It was very touching and heart warming that the fans were such big contributors. This, of course, was a few years after it happened. Our hearts still go out to the family and especially the kids.

It’s gross that she excuses the actions of the guy who actually carried out the murder, and even says stupid things like “at least he was empathetic enough to not burn down the house”. I get the impression she would never be so forgiving or lenient had the murderer been white.

@@ohwellwhateverroh lord, it doesn’t matter what skin color he was. Why did you even have to bring up that last point because it makes no sense, AND you’re looking way too into what she said. She meant at least he had some sort (not excusing his actions and she didn’t either) of change in his mind to not go through with killing the children/ burning the house down. Stop trying to argue for no reason, because it really seems like you’re just looking for things to nitpick instead of actually considering what she meant.

Just got to the "some people don't like my profanity" and I'm floored. SERIOUSLY? She's an adult, they're words, grow up, and don't watch if you don't like it 🤦‍♀️. It seems really childish to be in her comments with childish things like "oh I wish you wouldn't say such and such" 😂.

Agreed. I also see a lot of people seek out videos like this where you know there will be violence and rough topics and then they whine when those topics come up. You clicked on a video about a serial rapist and you're commenting you're upset that there's sexual violence in this video, for example. Why are you HERE, then? Take some responsibility for the content you consume. It seems to me that they expect to be coddled from the world. It doesn't work that way, especially when you seek out content you state you can't handle consuming.

I had a sociology professor who liked to drop the F-bomb, I quite enjoyed it. 2 weeks into the semester he gives the class a quick lecture about how if you don't like the profanity he uses, to drop the class, because he's not forcing us to be there. He said to put your adult clothes on and don't come back instead of crying to the ombudsman. He made a point that a fellow peer and ADULT, complained because she didn't like the profanity he used and it was distracting her from learning. That this student should grow the f up and get used to it, you're in an adult world now, you can't tell on everyone because you have different beliefs. Then said how the F can he get through teaching a class called SOCIAL PROBLEMS without swearing, that that's a social problem in itself! He was pretty harsh and felt like he was passive aggressively attacking that student, but he had some good points, similar to yours.

How can you send someone to kill your wife, knowing your child is in the house...how can you hurt someone with their child literally watching you do it...I just...I can't fathom those things. What an absolutely selfish piece of complete garbage her husband is. I hope her kids can grow up as healthily as possible and get to remember their mom fondly with the rest of their loved ones.

I just can’t fathom how someone could live with with their partner, let them cook you meals, share a bed, clean your clothes, care for them and the children, all the while planning on killing them. It makes me physically sick. If these men are just so greedy for money, why don’t they just go rob a bank etc, rather than killing their families. I am convinced that it is multifaceted, they want money, they want the new girl, they don’t want the children “baggage”, and also, they don’t want their current partner to find someone else. It’s greed & control. Utterly disgusting

This happened less than two miles from my home. Not that this makes any of this better, but the community really came together for the children. A fund was started for people to donate money for them. I believe the children are with Kelly’s sister. I didn’t know Kelly personally- but I have a lot of friends that did and they had nothing but beautiful things to say about her. Tree’s, businesses, and peoples homes in the area were adorned with purple ribbons. Her death really did affect the entire community.

I was in the same type of situation. It’s fear. Fear for yourself and most likely the abuser (like mine was) was a narcissist and psychopath. To everyone, he was so sweet and kind but to me he was mean and abusive. I started planning my leaving the day after I found out I was pregnant. I wasn’t able to get out until my son turned 2. He dragged the divorce out, was just awful through the whole thing. You don’t know how hard it is to leave unless you are in the situation. It’s not as easy as it seems. I had to research laws, make sure I had all my paperwork organized so I could put up a good fight in my divorce. I knew if I didn’t get out of there, I would end up dead. I didn’t want my son growing up thinking this is how a boy treats a girl. These men get you scared and isolated. It’s harder than it seems. Please don’t judge a woman who takes the time to leave. It’s terrifying to be in that situation.
