Why is language important ?
Language defines a culture, through the people who speak it and what it allows speakers to say , words that describe a particular cultural practice or idea may not translate precisely into another language. Many endangered languages have rich oral cultures with stories, songs , and historic passed on to younger generations but no written forms, with the extinction of language, an entire culture is lost.
So our Tibetan people, never ever forget our Tibetan language . Thank you

I like the discussion. Living here in US, I have learned so much about the westerners. All I can say is that they are very similar to us. The only difference is that they have different ways of approaching things. Inji people have compassion as well and maybe some have more than we do. They are perceived so differently in Bhoepa community. I was surprised to find out how similar they are to us. Also, when Jean was talking about how community shames on fat people and how she struggled with it during her young age, it’s no different than our community. Except, in our community, everyone takes it as a joke and are used to it because, if you really pay attention, Bhoepa people shames and judges each other all the time! But people over here are sensitive and they take it to heart which results in mental health problems. I mean, we have a song about Bhomo Gyakpa for crying out loud. What I want to say, from my experience, is that we are all humans and we all have a lot of things in common despite the fact that we all look differently and we all grow up differently. Everyone has a heart and there’s goodness in everybody.

Hi Tashi Delek Abu Karma, I have subscribed from today, expecting more discussion on benefits of becoming Vegetarian and Vegan which are two different areas of lifestyle choices. I am just adding some points in support of our friend Miss Jean here. Worlds one hundred scientist particularly super-expert in the field of longevity explains that 10-15% of population can have long-life and die of old age and 80-85% is lifestyle choices. The following quick list of books and studies based on realtime experiment of people from across the globe irrespective of their race, color, sex, age or religion synthesised in hundreds and hundreds of scientific ( non-corrupt) evaluations from JAMA, BMJ, LANCET, AMA, SCIENCE, NATURE ...etc suggest that the importance of being Vegetarian and being Vegan to self and the to the ENVIRONMENT! 1. The China Study ...T . Campbell 2. Meatanomics ....David Robinson 3.In defence of Food..... Michael Pollan 4. Omnivore Dilemma....Michael Pollan 5. Green is new Red ......Will Potter 6.Blue Zone ....Dan Buettner 7. Many long medical studies such as Framingham study There is strong correlation today that cause of Heart attacks, Strokes, Cancer, Diabetes, kidney has direct link to consumption of Meat, Poultry and the one Jean said on "Osteoporosis" bone breaking has direct link to consumption of dairy product ...today highest 2015-16 in Australia, New Zealand, USA and followed by European country! Just like Jean, experts explains that when we drink milk it contains makes our blood higher in acidity and when the blood is higher in acidity, to minimise the acidity the body extracts the calcium from the bones to minimise the acidity in the blood and excess calcium the body extracted from the body in the blood gets out in urine...thats were bone run deficit of calcium and turn weak! For example US alone spends nearly $400 Billion plus on health for treating these diseases and it is expected to explode at 15% more by another 5 years ! let alone about environment destruction...1 third of US river system are polluted , every day size of New York size of stadium of animal waste is collected ( it is just collected and waiting some day for disastrous consequences US had already few of them in the past killing million of river system and contaminating basic foundation of our lives). Ecological cost benefit analysis ....Vegetarian ( to get pound of Apple or Potato it needs 700 to 1000 litres of water) Meat ( to get pound of beef, pork it needs 50000 litres of water). Amount of soy, hay, corn ( animal feed, animal consume to get a pound of flesh on them would require ...i don't know how much and amount of waste each animal generate is beyond our intellect ! To our wonder and shock! These animals Cows, Pigs, Sheep, Goat, Chicken you name it ...when alive in CAFO are INJECTED with 28 million pounds of antibiotics such has Chlortetracycline, Oxytetracycline, Pencillin ....Americans inject themselves around 14million pounds of antibiotics because they get sick after consumption of these meats. Inject plenty of growth Harmones ( rBST) anabolic, steroids, sex hormones androgen, testosterene which has seen direct impact on our bodily changes... Today there are roughly 500 million vegetarian and in US there 16 million vegetarian and i thank Jean for her contribution being Vegan...for contributing to self and global environment safety and longevity ! Thank you for this upload and expecting more of such discussion! Thank you Jean for your service teaching English at Sherda !
