Whitney live is a whole different level than studio versions. From her performance of I Am Changing (San Francisco 1986) to her singing Why Does It Hurt So Bad (MTV Awards) Whitney has a long list of live performances that will keep you covered in goosebumps. And don’t get me started on her gospel performance…whewwww!! Everyone wants to place her as a pop diva or a RnB artist but Whitney was first and foremost a gospel singer. Her voice especially in her prime was unmatched and the whole world had to acknowledge it.

You can't separate them like that. Whit her you can mostly hear Cissy's gospel school. And in my opinion she was also a jazz talent.

@@thomasrehag1747 What? It’s easy to see that Whitney is a gospel singer. She sang her songs like an actual gospel singer. She herself said her mother taught her gospel because once you can sing gospel you can sing anything. Plus listen to her live…she could move the melodies and tempo and emote with ease….like most old school black gospel singers.
