I've seen so many people buy smooth bottomed bowls for crushing. They become disappointed and I personally know a lot who don't move on further with their hobby instead of doing their research first. Great Info in this video.

Wow I’m glad it wasn’t just me, I felt like such a fool at the time. I guess folks use smooth mortars for crushing wet materials so it’s easier to clean, but I find a rough mortar works fine, just got to scrub a little harder!

Magic bullet or coffee grinder, especially for dried roots to get them finer. Ive been a hobby wine maker and discovered star san, which is a, no rinse, sanitary cleaner used in wine making and for cleaning food prep surfaces. I had bought a bunch of dropper bottles for my tinctures and then realizes that the droppers are not feasible for long storage because the dropper rubber can degrade over time. No worries though. Amazon sells the lids for the bottles I have and i only use the dropper lid when I am actually using the tincture. Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge. The notebook is what I need. I make tea blends and I do not keep a good record of what tweaks I did to make it the way I like it. So now I have teas I love to drink and know what is in them but not the ratios for each. Finally, my husband hates the tea leaf residue in his cup after using a tea ball. I have a mess of old unbleached coffee filters and found a video on using them to make tea bags. Its a little like origami but so simple and compostable.

Origami coffee filters, that’s genius! I think my husband uses the same cleaner to sanitize his brewing apparatuses, I’ll have to ask. Thanks for sharing!

I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. I’m feeling the winter blues hard this year. Are the videos working okay without the music?

New subscriber here! Love the videos I’ve seen so far. Do you have a list of sources for herbs, oils, and other ingredients?

Most of my herbs I grow on my property or buy locally at the Natural Living Center in Bangor. Mountain Rose Herbs is a great wholesale place to buy dried and powdered herbs online. Oils, I just buy at any local grocery store, I’m not too picky!
