This song is a blessing for everyone in deep trauma and depression of losing someone, giving a reason not to give up on life. It's value is much larger than all the money from sellings and copyright. Some stupid quick made party Hits may sell much better but this is a song with value to every individual and society and it will stay for centuries.

Nice reaction to one of the most famous singers in Germany, and to one of the most touching songs, he ever wrote (b.t.w., the translation shown in the sub-titles is pretty good). To fully understand the magnitude, meaning and importance of the song, it's helpful to know that after his wife's and brother's death within just a couple of days he had a break of about 3 years, before he came back with the album "Mensch", which became one of the most successful albums in Germany ever (more than 3 mill. sales).

you should watch the rest of the concert as well. especially the song "Mensch", whitch comes just after "Der Weg". At the end of the video you can see a wave of love going through the arena. La Ola. He just sits down on the catwalk and watches the people celebrate him and celebrate each other. The rest of the concert was very colourful and often like a big party. In later interviews he told, that he was fully overwelmed about being still so famous after being completely away for four years to be a single father of two kids.

I can’t believe that it’s been over 20 years that he lost his brother and wife (both in the same year, by the way). I’m german and I follow Herbert since his first Album. He became so professional and his lyrics are just amazing and natural. He decided to do this tour (Mensch) and it was sold out over a year before it started and then he started writing the songs for this tour.
