Transcript read "go-to Cola" ...unfamiliar, so had to look it up and kept getting new commercial carbonated soda-pops. LOL! Finally found it though: "Gotu kola is a perennial plant native to India, Japan, China, Indonesia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the South Pacific. A member of the parsley family, it has no taste or smell. It thrives in and around water. It has small fan-shaped green leaves with white or light purple-to-pink flowers, and small oval fruit."

Thank you soo much for these herbal formulations. God bless you immensely. Can children take these tinctures and what dosages can they have please ?
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 7 ай бұрын
Hi, Roselyn! Excellent question, and thank you for being here in our YT community! I appreciate you very much. Children can take most herbs that adults can take as long as there are no health contraindications and the amounts given are titrated for the size of the child. Children under two years old need special consideration. Be sure to do research before using herbs and essential oils with children because people are all different, and so are children. For example, although fairly rare, some children are allergic to certain flowers in the aster family. For these children, even a gentle and wonderful herb like chamomile might need a patch test for safety, which is easy to do. The best thing I recommend for people wanting to learn is to take a course or purchase some books for beginners. If you're able, check out our school, as we have a wonderful family-oriented herbalism course: healingharvesthomestead.lpages.co/differences-between-large-courses/ And in this video, I give a rundown of good herbalism books for the different levels from beginning to advanced: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iraaZcqX26vMg5c.html Thank you for asking this....it's such a great question and one of the first things people start wondering about. Thank you for being here in the community!

What are your thoughts on Gingko biloba? Would that be a good tincture to add to your recipe? If a person is taking Aspirin is that a contraindication with Gingko biloba. I read that it can affect your blood circulation and can have spontaneous bleed, with aspirin which is also thinning the blood, I’m not certain if I should add Gingko. I only trust your knowledge on this as you’ve taught me so much. You are a amazing soul to be helping so many people ❤️

Hi, Suzie! This is an "it depends" question. Be sure to research contraindications, and if any seem to match you, proceed with caution. Also, I must say this: defer to your medical doctor, as no herbalism content is medical advice.

Is it 10 ml of tulsi or 20? The Rosemary and Gotu Kola - is it 10 ml each or 20 ml each? How many drops and how may times a day
@tinadory6830
@tinadory6830 8 ай бұрын
It is 10 ml of tulsi. The rosemary & gotu kola tincture was made using equal parts of each herb. So 20 ml of the blend, but if you have them tinctured separately then it's 10 ml of each.
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 8 ай бұрын
See Tina's comment below for the amounts, and as far as dosing, these are GRAS herbs (generally regarded as safe). If you're average size, start with 2-3 droppers full (about 1/2 teaspoon) once a day and see how that goes over time.

@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 8 ай бұрын
Hi, and so glad you're here! I'm so sorry you're experiencing chronic headaches. This is where herbalists will try to identify the root cause and view your entire system: body, mind, spirit....everything. Even your physical environment might be causal. We also ask about the type of headache...where it is and how it presents. Without having a consultation this is difficult, but I can tell you that I have a lot of various headache remedies from tension to migraine. If you go to my website to the SEARCH area, most of my articles and videos are indexed by groups so you can find them there. healingharvesthomestead.com/

Hi, Delynn! Bacopa is a pretty special herb. You can make the blend without it, but it will be more effective with it. Have you tried Pacific Botanicals? You have to order by the pound, but if you tincture it all up, it will last a LONG long time.

Hi Heidi, I am circling back to this formula. I received the herbs I was missing, so I am ready to make it now. The idea of making both a tea and a tincture is appealing; I might do both. What do you think about making it as a glycerite? I just received my Levo C herbal infuser and would like to try it out using glycerin. The machine can be programmed for time and temperature. I am thinking 185 for 5 hours as that is what the manufacturer recommends. Edit: I decided to try something super simple for the trial run. The machine is making a lemon balm glycerite right now. About the tea... If using cut and sifted herbs, would 2-3 tsp per 8oz of water be enough or should it be stronger? Thank you for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it. Michele
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 7 ай бұрын
Hi, Michele! That's so exciting about the glycerite! I hope you'll share results in the student community, as people are always wondering about the machines. (including me, lol) I would probably go with 3 tsp per 8 oz of water as a steeped infusion. But then I like strong teas.🥰

@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 8 ай бұрын
No, I don't sell products unless it's to a local person because unfortunately, the government doesn't like herbalists to sell products and also to share information about them. Hmmm....I wonder why? (Said tongue-in-cheek). But if I teach, then people can find the herbs or the formulas they need. But honestly my biggest hope is that people will start making their own....I think this is going to be necessary for many of us soon.

How do you assess the impact of caffeine and nootropics on improving gaming skills? Have you experimented with normotim or any similar alternatives yourself?
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 8 ай бұрын
Hi, Eileen---Another viewer had the exact same question--so odd? I'll copy and pastes the answer below: Hi! Caffeine is a substance found in many plants (coffee of course, as well as guarana, cacao, Camellia sinensis, yerba mate, and others) that has been proven to improve physical and mental acuity on the VERY short-term. There's that spike, then the drop in energy causing fatigue in many. I prefer different herbs, and I love adaptogens taken over time such as eleuthero and ashwagandha. Herbal nootropics need time to start working and should be taken consistently. I know I have seen a big difference, and so have others I know. Specifically, when I stop taking my tincture, I feel a difference. With Normotim, I have no idea, to be honest. I veer away from all pharmaceuticals created in a lab. I've found (for me) they're filled with negative side effects and can be potentially dangerous over time and especially when taken incorrectly. Just my opinion on that.

I have a question on the different topics.. what herbs would you recommend for GERD? My husband have a huge issue with “heart burn “, sometimes he can’t even sleep
@HeidiVillegas
@HeidiVillegas 8 ай бұрын
Oh, gosh! We have quite a few protocols in our Confident Herbalist Tribe membership that students have shared. Different herbs will work differently for people, so some "tweaking" of formulas may be necessary, especially for something like this. Here are a few thoughts to start with though: chamomile, calendula, ginger, licorice root, marshmallow root or slippery elm (due to the mucilaginous properties), and I'm a fan of taking digestive bitters about 30 minutes before eating and then again about 30 minutes after eating. This may be helpful, too.
