If he would have play the base there it would probably had been on D. If you play in A and do a Dminor cord you'll see it sounds nice.

He used a 4minor chord which obviously isn't in the key. But it works. 4minor or D minor has the note f in it

+kwamepi1 great question. It just depends on what key the original songs are in and what keys the bands decide to perform. However, the Gospel Music Training Center has hundreds of lessons in all 12 keys, with many in F Major.

Marc Figueroa it’s something we like to hear depending on the song and placement, that’s all. Some use them in higher doses than others. It’s just preference

No, But it does give the song a different feel depending how how they used..I like using passing chords my self when needed but every song doesnt need them and alot of times they can be over done
