In terms of being one of the most technologically advanced vehicles on the market, it reminds me of the 2000-2001 Acura TL due to the fact that during those years, the TL was ahead of it's time in that regard.

Great review as usual Dave! Good to see a reviewer "review" the car in front of them vice spending 10 minutes saying what it isn't. I think it looks good and seem to be competitively appointed inside. Saw spy photos of the TLX (TL replacement) today, looking foward to that concept reveal later in the year.

Good review, while it looks to be nicely packaged and at a great price I'm not sure it will be able to gain traction in the marketplace with the Germans. Is there any torque steer in FWD version? If so that would certainly turn people off and they would quickly move the RWD alternatives.

This review is quite good, but just a few basic questions for Dave. I just want to know three things.. How is the ride quality of this car, is it tune to be like a BMW, or as comfy as a Lexus LS? As for the handling, does it feel like a front drive or a more composed rear wheel platform when the car swings around the curves. The last question is not about this model, some reviews have stated that they got a early test drive on a SHAWD version, did you get the chance to drive that one yet..

What I'd like to see is a texter car in front departure warning. Traffic is constantly being held up by texters at a signal not noticing the light has changed and that the car in front of them has moved on.

Oh - sidebar alert. This isnt a workout page but you're in shorts now and I noticed your calf muscles are like in 3D. Is that mainly attributed to genetics or do you work them often (I did legs today & I'm genetically deficient so I really have to try hard to add mass). Apologies for going waaay off subject.

I think this car lacks a few features that the German brands have for the same price. No 8 speed transmission, no panoramic sunroof, no turbo for the V6 seems a little underpowered, no paddle shifters, 4 wheels drive option? But it is a little bigger in the back seat and has rear wheel turning. I think would have a hard time choosing this over a A6.

No I wouldn't go that far. There aren't many, if any well dressed automotive journalist. I honestly think it would give him an edge and possibly capture a new audience. I am a fashion consultant so thats why I suggested it.

Well, looks like Honda will continue to ignore its real problem with Acura: NO RWD. If I were Hyundai I would have an ad of a Genesis or an Equus walking away from this thing on a back road or a closed course and have Jeff Bridges (who does their voice overs) say, "Yeah...that's about right."

Newcomer Hyundai is much closer to playing in the big leagues with Genesis and Equus than Acura is. Acura has a better brand image but they are, at best, near-luxury vehicles. RLX comes close to the Mercedes E class, not the S class, and on a good day runs a distant second.The 5 series BMW and the 6 series Audi are so far ahead in brand image that it makes the Acura seem to be a pretentious Accord.

Sorry, but this car just sucks for the price and competition. The ES350 is a way better car and far cheaper. Too much Accord heritage just by watching the video. The extra 500lb weight on the car also taxes the crap out of the DI engine whereby the EX-L V6 Accord is much faster ! Get that, the lower "model" costing 20k less will out accelerate it!

Looks like an uglified Accord to me. And what's with those two (??) huge screens? I'll bet more than a few of the folks that actually buy this dog won't be able to figure out half the features buried in all those menus. Lots of better choices around for this kind of money.

snowcat what they said this is the first to independently steer the rear wheels. Pay attention. Honda had this tech in the 80s on the prelude as well.
