Looks like a basic LT, with a sticker that says “Alaskan”. I would of expected block heater transmission heater possibly heated seats and steering wheel. You know more extreme cold weather items.

Snow plow prep package DOES NOT come with any plow brackets/mounts, like that Boss mount on the truck. That is aftermarket only. The plow mount doesn't come with the Alaskan package either. Not sure if you're confusing what's on the truck with what the Alaskan package comes with, but it's spelled out on Chevy's website... No engine or transmission heaters but we all know GM would issue recalls when the truck would catch fire when in use 😂😂😂

I was thinking the same thing about the tires, you have a grizzly bear on the side & the tires look about as aggressive as a chipmunk

I had a 2018 2500 alaskan with 6.0 mine was just a wt trim and i loved that truck it towed a 5th wheell camper just fine never used it for plowing as to i live in fl but it was a nice trim it offered alot of extras so its not just a base model truck

I could be mistaken but that’s a 40/20/40 split seat with center console. I haven’t seen a true bench seat for quite some time.

Dark Red is 'da best! The Alaskan package should also feature navigation, blue tooth, great stereo, heated bucket seats, heated steering wheel, and a moon roof to watch 'da Northern Lights eh?? Not sure about the rubber floor; rubber stinks somethin' awful when 'da heater is going full blast! Get 'er nice and hot tomorrow when plowing at the former K-I Sawyer Air Force Base and tell us if you get a bad smell from the rubber floor. My Uncle Gordon Vercoe used to plow the runways at K-I Sawyer Air Force Base quite awhile ago when it was operational. Then he moved from plowing the runways, to working underneath the airport in the complex steam boiler tunnels, etc...

Kind of figured it would have some better snow tires, seems like the biggest thing you'd want added considering it's built for snow.

This is literally a 1500 dollar appearance package with the plow prep package. No heated seats, steering wheel, heated mirrors, engine block heater, trans heater, electronic locking rear, supplemental diesel cab heater, or even rear defrost. All of that is tied up in the 2,400 dollar convince package. If this is a serious plow truck, get a WT truck with the 150 dollar snow plow prep package. You get vinyl seats and floor by default and save a shit ton of money. If you have money to burn or want a really nice plow truck, get a LTZ/high country or denali with a plow prep package and enjoy working in a reasonably luxurious cab. As for the snow tires, they have to sell the trucks with tires all season ready because what if they sell the truck in July when snow tires would be horrible. I would prefer having a second set of wheels and tires for winter months. It takes 30 minutes to switch them. If you are for some reason dead set on a single set of tires for year round, then get yourself a set of inclement weather rated all terrains and keep some chains on you, but either way you're swapping tires and its easier if they just include all seasons you can sell off if you don't want them.

Great looking truck the dark red is better as far as tires if I had that truck id have Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires on it especially for plowing snow

The plow controller wiring isn't based on the truck having plow prep. That is where the plow installer they used ran the wiring.

The vinyl flooring should be an option on all trucks. My Tacoma had it and to this day I miss that. Carpet on trucks that are used for work or off road is just dumb way to ruin an interior. The vinyl is super easy to clean too.

I like the Alaskan. But the again I like diesels and chrome. Plus I am a fan of the LT, I have owned 2 since 03 and really liked them.

I bet the frontal area of that truck is more than a 4x8 sheet of plywood. I saw a C/K today and it was refreshing how trim and non-puffy it was. I prefer '05 and older Chevys, "bad" interiors and all.

I have finally resolved my perception of the new front end. I think it's an homage to the 1965 Chevy truck with the turn signals up top and the headlights down below.

Boss plow wiring doesn't come from the factory its aftermarket. The controller does come with a mount for the dash and the head even removes from the handle for better mounting.

The color matched grill looks better still looks like a 2020 Azteck BUT with climate change getting more intense by the month i think it was a brilliant idea for GM to make a truck with that in mind

Nothing wrong with the bench seat. Many generations are here today because their parents or grandparents had the bench seat 😎. Not a fan of the front end either. Usually like Gm but Ram and Ford HD'S look better.

Chevy should allow an option on all 2020 trucks to install the 2019 front end. I still can't fathom how this design beat out other designs. Did someone at the GM design team lose a bet or what???

I have a 2019 Silverado 2500 (6.0 Gas engine) with the Alaskan package and what I find weird is that it doesn't have a block heater. It does have heated seats however. Mine came with Goodyear Dura trac tires.

Since Chevy moved the mirrors off of the window and down to the door that triangular shape is perfect to add those windows like the old Fords had in the 90s I wish they would do those. They always let in the perfect amount of air and were perfect for smokers.

How about tires designed for Florida? OK, that's a great idea. Go for it. Who are these people who come up with these crazy things? A truck called the Alaska Package, designed for snow plowing, should have tires rated with the 3-peak snowflake symbol. It's not that complicated.

It doesn’t come with a block heater like a remote controlled Webasto or cord like Calix? Or did I miss that spec? Here in Sweden you can hardly get a car without that.

Chevrolet is so behind on tech, it should have had navigation and a plethora of temp gauges not to mention engine and transmission heaters..

Have 2016 2500 hd. Lt and snow plow package. It is great for plowing, could not justify diesel whatsoever. Alaskan did come with duratrac tires however I have falken wild peak AT3. They work great.

I really love all the new trucks they look really good. Diesel trucks are just so amazing.

First off,like most of us out here. I thought the new design was ugly. But it's starting to grow on me. And if your a regular cab truck guy like myself. The HD regular cab gm trucks have more options than the 1500! Things like satellite radio,and power seats,ect!

Boss bracket consumes a lot of ground clearance.

Snow Plow prep package does not include the Plow mounting plates. Basically it's the upgraded alternator and front end suspension

Seems like I was one of the few that actually liked the design. As for the colour... dark cherry red for sure.

And as for the Boss plow controller! I run an older GMC 4500 with a BOSS VEE plow! I strap the control to the column shift! But Fisher Plows have far better controls!

It's got the massive duramax diesel engine with almost 1000 foot pounds of torque..the other two (Ford and dodge) have cracked that 1000lbs of torque It's got a sticker tho

GM makes very reliable trucks... I have a 2013 2500HD 6.0L gas that runs today like I just drove it off the lot with 17 miles on it. 128,000 today

Speaking of snow tires, does it have any significant rust prevention or maybe a extra rust prevention package ? Considering it's going to be in the snow and the salt all the time.

I live in North Pole Alaska, and I'm telling you right now I'm doing just fine with the trucks I got. A sticker and couple extra accessories that most already have here dont make it special but griz sticker is pretty cool lol

Actual trucks in Alaska are plugged in whey they are not running. Parking meters, grocery stores, etc. all have plug-ins for every parking spot. Diesel engine vehicles are left to idle for four months. They are never shut off. Cute sticker on the truck, though. Anyone know the Cd on that four-wheeled brick?

Hopefully that winter package has heated mirrors seats & wheel and even real snow tires. The problem with boss plows the front frame sets really low. Fisher & Western plow frames sets about 2 or 3 inches higher way better clearance. Great Review. Thank You.... yes I know fisher & western is the same company.

Umm heated seats, heated starring wheel, extra cab insulation, larger heater, heated mirrors, rear window defogger, bigger battery, battery warmer and maintainer, trans heater, oil pan heater, block heater... are those things standard?😂 I do like the decals and the added cab lights👍

Seems like they just added a sticker to what should already be there. If you buy a Boss plow, it comes with the attachments.

I really appreciate the rubber floor! But a winter specific package should have heated seats and steering wheel standard. Plus navigation. The decals are stupid and pointless. But that dark red looks great! Hope GMC does a similar package with the missing features.

Nice truck for up north but damn I'm glad I live in Texas ! It gets hot as hell here but we don't have to plow and shovel those 100 deg days lol.

I just can’t get myself to like this front end. Great idea to make it completely different then the 1500s but the truck just doesn’t look right in the front. Just odd.

Once again Chevy Silverado is the best looking truck anywhere the new look is like big rig styling personality I think the lower end Silverados grills looks better than the more elaborate options

There is absolutely no comparison. The mono-colored paint job with the black bumper is hands down much better looking than the truck with the chrome.
