Audi depreciation is real, I bought a Q5 in July 2022 and already had about £6500 negative equity. The upshot is that I managed to strike a deal with my local Audi marshal dealership for a A6 with 11 miles on the clock, black edition for £39k… technically a 2nd hand as it was a showroom model. All bells and whistles as it were… pity about the rear seat cupholders but will mod them in later.

I have a 2019 c8 a6 I bought back in July last year. Have put about 14k miles on it so far. Has 46k miles on it currently. Rides real nice and pretty powerful in sport mode. I’ve been on the forums as well since getting it and have not seen too much talk about them really. Crazy because it feels like the car has some real power potential. As far as the value on them depreciating like crazy, you are right about that. Was going to fly out and purchase one last year for 4-5k less in Beverly Hills and decided to make a purchase in Chicago since Cali dealership didn’t take me seriously.

yeah man! I wish there was better aftermarket support for the C8 models... I just wish they had kept the ZF8 transmission I feel that would have alleviated any drivetrain issues. Honestly seems like a downgrade from the C7/7.5. I never cared for the supercharged motors so better overall potential with the newer single turbo V6. Lets see what the future holds.

I have a 21 a6 c8 3.0t prestige 58k miles I drive it pretty rough sport mode daily and always on dynamic mode… I’ve had 1 issue with the instrument cluster about 2,000 miles ago and that’s it

I bought a 2019 A6 C8 in october of 23. Stock until recently. Stage 1 93 ECU tune from APR for about 2 months now. Car runs great for me. Has some oomph for a luxury sedan. Only thing I’m disappointed in is the lack of aftermarket support for the car. I feel like I can’t even find headlights for the car.

That's good to hear. I really like the newer 3.0T nowadays. Just wished they had used the ZF8 on the current model A6/A7 instead of the DSG.

Thx for that info I have one but if I do anything else to it, I may just be exhaust The dct transmission imo is more so tune for cruising and not spirited driving However the engine is smooth and powerful and will surprise you My only complaints with the car is the mmi system, parking sensors and camera can unsync.

Yes glad to help, I just wish they had stuck with the ZF8 on these cars would like alleviate the need for a TCU tune for at least stage 1

Intersting, I have the 2019 A8 with the same engine but their 8 sp transmission which is a lot more sturdy. I've been looking at getting the APR stage 1 tune and haven't heard much in the negative area for the A8L. Ii wonder if it is due to the different gearbox.

What a bummer, I was looking at C8 A6 3.O for my next car. Now im not so sure. Maybe all they need a is a good DSG tune to go along with ECU tune ? I know TVS engineering in Europe offers booth. They are supposedly one the leading experts in DSG tuning worldwide.

I wish they just used the ZF8 on the C8 A6/A7 that would likely clear up any concerns with or without a TCU tune. At least on a stage 1 car. Not sure if we'll see developments on any TCU stuff... I certainly hope so!

very limited on aftermarket support. I think the 7 speed DSG was a huge misstep on Audi's part. They should have just updated the 8 speed used on so many other models.

I’m wondering if the issues with the 48v starter motor/generator failing and completely immobilizing the cars is causing the prices to drop. Audi finally released a recall for it though.

Do you have a link to the recall? Was just at a dealer for service but they didn't find any recalls on it when I asked.

I have the A6 C8 2.0 Premium Plus. Bought at 8k now at 38,900k. Bought it for a daily driver and gas efficiency which saves me an average of $200 a month gas savings. I do 70k commute daily mostly highways. No issues so far. I do 5k oil change intervals. 5k I do it myself and 10th k dealer part of a maintenance plan. I turn off the on and off feature. Lots of comments in the forum about alternator going bad which they suspect from the frequent auto on/off engagement.

The 2.0T for sure is great on fuel economy. Great engine, had that in my old A3 quattro it was peppy and reliable. I could definitely see issues with the start/stop feature.

The limitation as to modifications comes from the fact that the stronic is a dual-clutch transmission and so far no one has decoded the code to code the transmission and it cannot be programmed and the transmission itself has the potential in series up to 700 NM max. And the drop in price is the only idea I can think of that Audi wanted to go to compete with the competition and they changed the price to be lower than the competition followed by quality ( although the performance inside is good ) But it gives the impression of being very plastic at some points compared to its predecessors I own a 2019 A7 C8 55 tfsi

Yeah would be nice to see a TCU tune for these cars but probably not something they are putting any focus into. Would be nice though!

I've been checking out these C8 A6's for a while now and thought getting a used one was a great deal. Now I have major doubts.

Yeah not looking good so far. I don't understand why wouldn't they just keep the same zf8 transmission from the C7/C7.5... now it appears the latest 7 speed dsgs they are using are having issues..

@@savagepandaprojects doesn't the C8 S6 have an 8 speed? Is that a ZF? The whole "tiptronic" thing always throws me off with Audi, they never actually list it as a ZF like BMW and other brands do...

Yes the S6/S7 get the ZF8. So they likely will have no issues.

@Michael_M991 I do like the C8 S6/S7 platform. The 2.9 makes tons of power with a tune. The 8 speed should be much more comfortable than the older DL501. I have heard of some recalls on the 2.9 on the B9 RS5 so I do not know if the same issues would apply on the S6 variant

@@savagepandaprojects handling upgrades would be awesome to see (coilovers, sway bars, etc), I also recommend getting the dsg catch can. Mounts all over would be a good addition as well

@mattkyle6968 yes that would be nice the only thing is for me because I already did all those same mods (springs sway bars, pendulum, etc) on the MQB A3 it would just be redundant and cost me thousands...

I’ve only ever had top trim A6s. When My C7 was totaled I went a bought a ‘23 VW Arteon instead. (Same drivetrain as an Golf R/S3) I don’t want to pay $80k for some mild-hybrid, turbo, rolling time bomb. Audi has become very disappointing.

That totally makes sense. I really like the A6 too you probably saw my video I did on the C8 discussion. Arteon so good looking as well, I just wish there was more cross compatibility with parts from the S3/R (I did a separate video on that as well) RS3 is a blast to drive but yeah man it just really hold the power like some other Audis

Two totally different cars... I used to have a C7 S6 so I've always kept my eye on the newer platforms like the C8 to see how development is going. Seems in this case due to powertrain concerns won't be much aftermarket support on the C8 A6/A7
