Here is why it's a big deal. The 128 GB costs $300 and Lenovo includes a cover and keyboard in the box. You also get stylus support. They are showing us that we can get a good deal on convertibles without paying so much for the likes of iPad pro and surface devices. They are amazing devices but to use all what they have to offer you have to pay close to the price tag of a premium PC or Mac

I bought myself one today and I am so in love with it! The keyboard takes a while to get used to, but it does have a solid operating system that makes it run smoothly. The cover is a little odd but im sure a different cover can be purchased. I loved that it has all of the google sync options already installed, which makes the setup super easy. I bought it primarily for school and digital art, which works perfectly for what I needed. Definitely one of the top electronics of 2020 in my opinion.

For a device that's priced at $299, the features and the specs of the Chromebook Duet are top notch. With the 128GB storage, Mediatek chipset and the lightweight build of the device, it is absolutely worth it. The detachable keyboard is the best part of the device.

Iv been eyeing this device on and off for about 4 months now and just bought it at Walmart today for $250. This device is nothing less than amazing. The build quality is comparable to the iPad, the amount of ram/storage you get for $250.00 - $300.00 exceptional and overall I dont have much to complain about this device. I freaking love how thin the tablet portion is but then when I need or want to type something out I can connect my keyboard to this tablet with ease and the included case/kickstand is so cool! The colors are beautiful along with the screen. Honestly I think this is how all (or at least most) Chromebooks should be!

Looks pretty nice. And frankly, for most consumers, I think it could easily serve as their main computer. I've been using Chrome OS devices as my main computers since 2014 with no problems. They do everything most people need. They may not have everything a "power" user wants or needs, but very few are in that category.

Yeah, but the market for Chrome OS tablets isn't really proven. Would've been more of a risk. This should sell like hot cakes, and then maybe Lenovo or another manufacturer will feel like releasing one at a higher price point. I see myself having a lot of minor issues with this - would prefer an SSD, more RAM, maybe a built in kickstand, and the keyboard to attach more securely. But it's not like there are many alternatives, and certainly not at this price. Being cheap earns you a lot of good will.

The best part of the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is the fact that it is extremely easy on the pocket since we don't have to pay anything extra for the detachable keyboard which turns good value into a great one. There are many options in the "flagship" (deluxe or whatever) range of Chromebooks. Samsung, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, etc. all make high end Chromebooks ($600+) that are ultra portable with very high screen resolution and higher ram and storage specs. Having a full HD touchscreen, 2-in-1, that can run Android apps (plus Chrome OS and Linux) to for under $700 can be found, which to me very much keeps up with the "big boys" and then some.

@@Cheetorblz strongly disagree, android tablets suck in general because of play store, very little real apps and games. ChromeOS brings you a full chrome browser which is really important for anyone who’s doing more than playing games on their tablet (which is literally everybody). Linux is also a huge addition the biggest example for this is microsoft visual studio. Also while android tablets struggle get two major android updates these things get updated much much longer than your average android tablet and more frequently as well.

@@Leonvolt28 hi Leon so you are using this Chromebook Duet..? May I ask, How's the experience..? I mean with efficiency and portability..? Is it reliable for web blog writing and basic image editing..? Is there any heating issue.? I am a professional tech writer and is confused between the Duet and iPad 8th Gen. The latter is a tad bit expensive as we have to buy the Apple pencil and keyboard set separately.
@Leonvolt28

@@bassmaniac9 I mainly use it for entertainment. It's perfect for watching videos and web browsing. The portability and battery time is a huge benefit compared to my heavy windows laptop. It will be fine for some simpele writing. But I don't really recommend to use it for real work, because of the small size. But it's definitely a great device. I haven't experienced any overheating issues so far.

I bought this on sale last year and I love it. It took a little time to get used to the keyboard like you said but it's been nice! Oh and I loved the Captain Pike, episode of Star Trek you were playing.

Hey, thanks for the video. I'm considering on buying one of those. I have a question though, if I use a USB hub to expand it's ports, would I be able to recharge the battery and use an external mouse simultaneously?
@HeartistMurali
@HeartistMurali 3 жыл бұрын
You won't get an answer for it.... you have to enquire only the manufacturer but their customer care would not be sure..... that's how eventually either you drop the idea of buying it or end up with a compromised product....

I think you can do it, as I have seen one video using USB hub on ipad and using multiple devices while also charging it. You can search videos for that on KZfaq.

I believe you can. They have some hubs with SD card adapters too and type C charging so I'm looking at one of those. I wish it had more ports, especially a SIM slot.

Sorry to be a little critic here. But this is CNET video. Your audio is not good enough. We have people doing videos at their houses with less credentials and they can come up with a better result. The content is great, but you should really find a way to improve your audio.

I would buy it again but it's not very useful for work. If I use it at work it's to check email and read documents. The keyboard is decently spaced and easy to type on. That's it for work. Duet is not setup for using spreadsheets and I compared it to my Acer 715 that is a workhorse. The Duet does not have a 10key pad, does not have a dedicated delete key which are two minimum must-have's for spreadsheets. Another shortcoming is the Duet keyboard has to be on a flat surface. So, for my needs, Duet is not meant to be an all purpose notebook. What I really enjoy about Duet is it's amazing battery life, quick processor, and bright screen.

"So you can answer your emails, surf the web, or play games” Wait, isn’t that what almost all full-fledge laptops and desktops are used for anyway? OK, AAA games cannot be downloaded and played in the traditional way, but Stadia (which I wouldn’t exactly recommend) is an option. And all this at $300? Come on...

If not for COVID-19 and the chance that university education might permanently move from on-campus classes to online lectures, I think the Lenovo Duet would be a game-changer for a college student who doesn't need to run Windows programs. It checks all the boxes: 10+ hours run time, Linux apps for productivity, Android apps for social media and games, powerful enough browser, FullHD screen for media consumption, and low cost. It's just Lenovo's bad luck that they released the Duet in these times. That said, for my use case, I'd like a bit more... I could live with the ARM-based CPU (because an AMD or Intel CPU would likely need a fan and/or make the total cost higher), but I really want 8 GB RAM, an SD slot (min. 256 GB-capable), a 2nd USB-C port (running at USB 3.0 speeds, ideally), a headphone jack, and slightly better speakers. If Lenovo could add those features to the $299 128 GB model, I'd be willing to pay say, $50 more. And I suspect they'd kill sales of all but the highest- and lower-end Chromebooks.
