NAH, OMEGA IS THE GOAT. The Rolex Authorized Dealers and Scalpers have made Rolex into a joke, you can't ever get the Rolex you want, but Omega actually wants to sell you a watch, because Omega is an actual watch company, not a Marketing firm that sells watches to celebrities and scalpers only.

The reason against rolex: their marketing concept today is based on artificial shortage. Therefore rolex watches are to expansive and massively overpaid and even for to much money you have to wait long for even very normal and average rolex watches. These are things I and some other costumers hate but for many others this makes Rolex even more attractive.
@johncarey9149
@johncarey9149 4 ай бұрын
Devil's advocate, but Wilsdorf was, first and foremost, a marketeer and knew that the value of a product was not what it cost to make, but what someone was prepared to pay. Personally, I think it's unfortunate that the world we live in today has embraced that idea to the extent that it has, but it is the world we live in.
@MusikPiratCH
@MusikPiratCH 2 ай бұрын
@@johncarey9149 I don't think it was Wilsdorf that made Rolex that popular. When I heard that about 10 years ago you could practically buy every Rolex model you wanted! Therefore it is not so long ago that Rolex became that brand they are now! There was also a hype about Rolex as an "investment". I don't think luxury goods are any investment category because the hype could be over as fast as it came! For me watches are for watch lovers only! But maybe I'm an exot in this regard. Omega and Rolex in the luxury watch making are about average if you'd like high watch craftmanship. A. Lange & Söhne put all other brands to shame when it comes to this aspect of craftmanship. It's simply the highest level!

I have owned four Rolex and, coincidentally, four Omega over the course of my watch journey. Some things Rolex does better; some things Omega does better. Buy the watch that makes your heart sing, because spending that amount of money on what is essentially jewelry, is an emotional decision where facts or someone else's opinions, do not matter.

Watchfinder catches a lot of grief for being Rolex fan-boys. Anyone who watches this video and is not impressed by Rolex's accomplishments is just going out of his way to be a hater. I am an owner of three Rolexes: an Oyster Perpetual, an OP Date-Just, and a Submariner. I love them all, wear none of them to impress anyone, and will keep them until I die, leaving them as bequests to people I know and love who I am confident will love them, too.

You’re right. I have a Datejust, Sub, GMT and Milgauss… I’ve tried to not be a ‘fanboy’ and bought (and then sold) other brands, such as Omega, but nothing else will do. By waiting until there is a timekeeping issue this could cause more wear to the watch. Think of it like the engine of your car, if you only service it when it breaks down the engine will wear out far more quickly as the lubricants break down and no longer do what they should do. The same applies to your watch as the lubrication drys out it will accelerate wear on the parts.

Respectfully always interested why people say that. What is your definition of high horology?? My Rolex keeps time within 1s per day and has wearing it daily for over 2 years so far doing everything in it. I play golf weekly, workout 5 days a week, swim in the pool and ocean, surf, fish, boat on and on. Bottom line the watch looks phenomenal and keeps great time and will fetch more than I paid for it today. I can continue doing this for the next 50 years and it will be ticking just the same and worth 3x-5x more than I paid for it then. What other high horology watch can you do that? Patek, AP, VC? Who wears these higher horology watches daily doing all the things people do in their Rolexes for decades and they keep better time and look better? Just asking since that comment comes up everywhere. One more thing to bring up. It is estimated that Rolex makes one million of these watches at this standard annually. Probably more than Patek, AP, and VC have made in their existence.
@alwayspooh1588
@alwayspooh1588 4 ай бұрын
High horology refers to the precision of the finishing, the usually hand made elements, the decoration of the movement, the chamfering of the surfaces, things like that. Rolex are great watches and are nice, but there is a reason you cannot see the movements, they are nothing special. Ultimately, Rolex make tool watches.@@rooterman2619

The Rolexes sit in their boxes, year after year, bar the odd very rare outing (usually when I am 100% happy that I am unlikely to be coshed from behind), whereas the Omegas come out to play because they look and feel great.

What I also like about Omega it is available for everyone that can save a thousand Euros. Rolex is ridiculous expensive since the Corona.

I own an Omega Seamaster Bond edition year 2020 and am extremely impressed with it, titanium body makes it very comfortable to wear and the movement is fantastic. I have monitored the accuracy of this watch for 3 months now and it’s running fast on average about 0.5 to 0.75 seconds a day! Can the Rolex Submariner compare with this accuracy?

Most of the points here prove one thing that you mentioned about Winsdorf - Rolex is a marketing company, not a watchmaking company. As a side note - that front page ad about swim across La Manche was a scam. The swimmer never made it to the other side on that day - she swam across before, but not with Rolex on the wrist. Coincidence? And another side note - all these reasons show why Rolex is worse than Omega actually 🤣🤣🤣.
